The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I went on a birding hike yesterday and had a pretty good day overall. While I did not take a ton of pictures, I did see a fair number of cool birds. I also heard 2 birds that I could not find visually. One I have never seen so that was a big bummer. The other, I have seen but have yet to get...
I had some Cedar Waxwings hanging out in the tree outside my office the past few days, so I thought I would feature some photos today.
Cedar Waxwings can be found throughout the lower 48 and into most Canadian provinces. In Canada, it will mostly be only during the breeding season. The...
I got out for some birding on Saturday at a pretty cool spot. Heard and saw TONS of great birds but didn't manage a lot of pics. I will post some others with different birds sometime this week probably, but for now I wanted to share these 3 of a Yellow Warbler that I managed. The first 2 pics...
There is a lot to unpack here.
Living in Idaho, the mere mention of the words Creole or Cajun draws confused look.
Ketchup is a bit too flavorful and spicy for these chucklefucks.
I saw earlier today he had Creole ancestry and was telling a friend that I absolutely LOVE that fact (mostly because I am a huge fan of Cajun and Creole food which in my opinion is the greatest food in America)
Rough week at work. Need birds
Below is one of my favorite birds, the Canyon Wren. Wrens in general are just cool to me really. A year-round native to the western US, they are typically found in rocky areas and canyons as the name implies. Their big voice of cascading whistles echo off the...
I'm choosing to believe that the choice of a "progressive" American to be the new Pope was a deliberate big ol' middle finger to all the fascist magats out there. They are losing their minds over this and its delicious.
McAfee used to be a regular on the Bob & Tom show (which is based out of Indianapolis and I grew up listening to it in Indiana and wherever else it was broadcast and enjoyed it most of the time) when he was on the Colts. He seemed fairly normal and funny. But man, every clip I see of him now...
Consider yourself lucky. He is the founder of Barstool Sports and is an absolute tool. He is a walking pile of all the worst things you find under an old, dirty deep fryer.
Nice. Ive only ever tried to put out jelly once or twice years ago when I was still in the Midwest. No luck.
I am putting up hummingbird feeders today. Sightings where I am have been sporadic but they are starting to drift in. The Eastern US should have lots of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds around...
And apparently Amazon is already walking that back claiming they were only considering it and it was only for their "ultra-low-cost" Amazon Haul store.
I don't really eat candy anymore but I would get the occasional zero sugar stuff (Type-2 diabetus). It was already pricey but for the occasional treat I was ok with it. Then my favorite brand pulled some shrinkflation recently. Fewer pieces per bag, at a price increase as well. Put them right back.
