  • Thanks for the info on the Cornell players! Hopefully the two defenders will be ready to go against BU.

HB was the player I heard about committing to Cornell this summer. It'll be interesting to see how this class shapes up. I expect it will be relatively small.
Wow, I just saw this message from July. haha. The girl you are refering to is named Hannah Bunton. It's not official that I know of, but that's what I heard this summer.
Hey! I hope you are having a great summer.

I've heard rumor that Cornell has received a commitment for 2013-2014 from a player that plays for Whitby. Have you heard of any other commitments? We are getting close to the start of the season.
Thanks! I've been a fan of Cornell hockey since the late 90's. For some reason, Cornell has always appeared to have an easier time attracting Canadian players compared to U.S. players. This could be a function of Cornell's location. It has a great reputation in Canada, and it is relatively convenient to Ontario. I also think part of the issue when recruiting players from the U.S. is it isn't viewed as being in the New England hub for players from the east coast or those from the west looking to go east. With that said, I've read a number of articles on some of the top U.S. players graduating in recent years and Cornell was one of their top three choices. This is certainly an improvement from 10 years ago, where that was largely not the case.

If you hear of anything, I'd love the scoop. The summer months are long and boring when it comes to hockey, and I need to find some way to get my fix! :D
I am here in Duluth. No, I haven't heard a peep about 2013-14. I know some girls have been on unofficials, but no commitments. I am sure most/all of those Harvard girls will get in to Harvard, but I have heard of at least 3 girls that wanted to go there and "committed" but then didn'tt get into Harvard. One being Taylor Marchin who it says Yale 2012, but I think she's diong PG at Choate for a year and then Yale will accept her for 2013. Also, with us having so many Canadians, they typically commit later. It's not that Cornell doesn't recruit Americans, but they seem to be going to Harvard over Cornell for whatever reason.
Hey! Are you heading up to the Frozen Four? I'd love to go, but don't think my schedule will allow it.

Also curious if you've heard anything regarding 2013-2014 player commitments to Cornell? I know its quite early, but Harvard seems to be piling them up.
Thank you for the info! Looking forward to watching tonights game vs. Mercyhurst online. This is certainly an important game for Cornell to win to secure first round home ice for the NCAA playoffs.
Just curious if you have any other recruiting news for Cornell other than the recruits already listed and the two I'm aware of on the Canadian U-18 team. I'd love to hear if you know of any one else. Feel free to email me. I sent you my email in a rep earlier this year. Its a great to have another Cornell fan on here!!
Don't believe what you read from CanHockGuy and 54 Fighting. I've never insulted Canadians or Canada...just those two specifically, and it's ALWAYS me defending myself against personal attacks by them. It all started well over a year ago when I simply defended the opinion of another poster they were tag teaming because that poster offered an opinion different than their own. They can't stand a poster disagreeing with anything they post or tolerate an opposing opinion. They both believe they're far more knowledgeable regarding any topic under the sun than every other forum member. They both frequently make uneducated negative comments regarding the USA, Americans and American society as well.
