This is where I am, but I think Motew plays over Peterson

That leaves 15 forwards. Room for 1 more!

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

That's the reality. Opting in probably means opting in for more than men's hockey. Opting out can focus resources on men's hockey through NIL.

With Barr coaching, some of those 16/17 guys would have been in the portal pretty quick! He loves his 200ft grinders like Scott, Freel and Fowler.

Forwards that we know: Freel, Scott, Nadeau, Fowler, Russell, Scholle, Komarov, Pichette, Calafiore, Gerrior, James and Peluso Hoping for Landon Sim. But that's still only 13.

I think Freel and Holt share the C. Assuming 3 As, I would guess Chabrier and Nadeau, with maybe Boija or Fowler.

I think people read too much into 1 game. Only 1 of the 4 teams in the frozen 4 were a 1 seed. Maine were poor against PSU but even good teams have bad games. There certainly didn't seem to be anything wrong with the locker room in Boston the week before.

He went straight from juniors. Would Holt have been AHL ready 3 years ago?

I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised with Motew. At the same age as Peterson he put up 29 points in 57 games and was +26 in a better league.

It's a great pickup. He's very similar to Holt in the way he plays. Maine's D will be very good next year. Maine needs some forwards.

When will 26 be confirmed? Do schools have to opt in for all sports? That might impact affordability at lots of schools.

It's a pity Pineau isn't in the portal. He would help replace Breazeale's size. Looks like he played junior with Nobes and Freel.
