  • Hey Harry,

Been a crazy last few months, working on the road, traveling, job searching all over again.......the only bright side so far has been the start of a new hockey season. I guess we had reason to smile a little last week, but my gig here in Vermont ends on Friday and as of now I'm still searching for what comes next. Looks like an inevitable 2-4 weeks unemployed at least before I get going again. ugh....anyway, needless to say I've been distracted by "real life". Great to see you and the full cast of characters still posting.....I'm just starting to get caught up this week.

I hope your daughter has made a full recovery and ready for a full and productive season. Best of luck to her and to Brown........ Steve
Hey Harry, different cell # Try 978-968-5739 I've had that since December. I was informed last October that my department was being reorganized and that my position was being eliminated. I continued working there through early January, but now I am working a temporary gig through August 31 as the Interim Controller for the hospital near Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. Given that my kids are older and my wife works well into the evening, this is working out pretty well for now. They are providing my accommodations and weekly travel expense and I am assisting them in recovering from a really bad information systems install. Hence the reason you haven't seen me online too much these last few months.

More than happy to exchange updates on Saturday though.

Congrats to Brown on a very much improved season. I was even impressed with the score from your first playoff game vs. Cornell. Hopefully that will continue!
Thanks for your note. I doubt they'll let anything we have to say get in the way of a good lynching in any case.

I just noticed that your daughter hasn't been in the lineup of late. I hope she's okay and things are going well for her.
Hi Harry! Thanks for the heads up. Todd maintains the Facebook page, and he is generally a meticulous speller! I'll let him know. Incidently, Ms. Lascelle picked up her first goal this weekend!
That is certainly nice to see! Now, I'm just anxiously awaiting to hear how Cornell's recruiting class is shaping up for next year. Lots of big shoes to fill in this years seniors.
Okay, talked to my friend - first day tomorrow - GOOD LUCK!!! don't worry, hard work but its sooo much fun. A scholarly life is a BLESSED life. Enjoy!
Yes, my (male) friend just started at UBC Med - first day of classes last week I believe? And I would be more than happy to meet up. I must admit, I've lost quite a bit of my college hockey knowledge since starting school - there is just simply not enough time in one day to accomplish most things (like researching players, stats, etc). I am barely keeping up with the forums these days....and have even less energy to argue (or read arguing). I miss chatting with everyone (Hux, DC, ARM, gotice, etc.). Things should be a little more tolerable this year..
OnMAA - Congrats on UBC, what an accomplishment!!! Getting into med school in the US is hard work....getting into med school in Canada is virtually impossible. She she be extraordinarily proud. Believe it or not, I have a friend who is starting at UBC right now...a great school from what I hear (with leather lecture chairs!!). This is just the beginning...first year of the rest of her life. :) - its a fantastic day!
Hibernating? Naahhh, I did manage to drop 30 lbs. though! Working hard, working out hard, having fun when and where I can. :) Hope your summer is going well!
I saw you delete your post about Red Berenson. You must have got the answer by now, but the answer is, as we all well know..... girls/women should be barefoot, with babies and in the kitchen....not playing hockey.

    Right????
Got your message. Sounds good. You have my cell#. I won't be online much after we leave Thursday am.~DC
Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the ECAC final, but if Cornell makes the frozen four (maybe even if they don't), I'm planning on making the trip to Erie.
Kelsey was asked to come to Plattsburgh this semester, she knew going in that she may not get playing time, because Houle wants to honor his commitment to the senior and the girl that transferred in the fall. Kelsey has been told that the starting spot is wide open for next year, but he wanted her to come now to get acclimated to the team and everything. She jumped at the chance. Houle is an stand up guy and Kelsey is loving it there…best decision for her.
OnMAA, Impressive. I may have gotten into Yale, but my stats are definitely not sufficient for those schools. I know you're proud, but the waiting game is the hardest and can destroy your self confidence...remind her often that she is special!
OnMAA, I have been trying to get back to you for some time now, but I just don't have time to spread rep around. I know, I'm that pathetic these days (blame anatomy lab!). But I noticed one of your posts and I wanted to let you know that I am here for your D if she has ANY questions about the process I am going through and went though (tests, apps, recs, etc). AS SOON as I can, I will PM you my number and email address that she can reach me at.

I'm hoping that Bendus ends up at UPenn....but its still extremely early and I have no idea where she is even considering.

    Will be in touch.....
I don't understand how this works!!

Some of you are my "friends", others I'd gladly consider you as a friend, but so far your not "officially" my friend.

I don't get it! what are the rules here?
Clarkson has a lot of adjusting to do with the freshmen...it will come together, but I don't think they well repeat their performance of last year...but still should be fairly good. Next year should be better as the freshman get adjusted and the upperclass players adjust to their new roles as leaders
