    Not at all. Just as how people rationalized bloodletting failures for centuries (“wow, the patient was so sick, not even bloodletting could save them”), conservatives just say, “See how bad the Biden economy was? Not even Trump can get it turned around!”

    Exactly. Do they really think Trump will knock off the tariffs just because they declare them to be illegal? They'll be illegal but un-prosecutable, which is the exact same result as legal.

    Playing with fire if you go that far. Although with southwestern VA being what it is, you could probably make that 1 GOP district end up R+80…. Edit: Lee and Scott counties “only” went R+72 and +70, respectively, so I was a little off, but not that much!

    Can't find the article now, but apparently it's not a religious thing at all, just a geographic thing. In the region where there is a lot of unrest and tribal/militia activity, there are indeed quite a lot Christians being killed - more than 1000 per year. But guess what? That region happens...

    What I heard hate-listening to right wing radio this morning is that the quotes from Reagan are not in the same order that they occurred in Reagan's original speech, therefore they are out of context, the whole thing is invalid, and the perpetrators should be in jail. And the gold in straw...

    So "pretty bad" in that they were doing the EXACT OPPOSITE of what Trump, Bondi, Patel and Sons are doing in rushing prosecutions of anything with a D in front of its name? That's a weird way to phrase it.
