  • The next election can't come soon enough. I'm very optimistic that positive "change" will take place!!
You of all people will appreciate this ...... so Mercyhurst is sitting and waiting for the tournament pairings to come out, the whole team in a student union, watching the webcast together except for Steph and two other players who had a night class at that hour. The announcement comes and the team is PO'd that they don't have a home game. Steph shows up later to rejoin the team, having got the news from me via text message that they are coming to Boston. She is psyched....wicked psyched, but her whole team is looking at her like... "go away" LOL. Too funny.... I think she might have as many as 40 or 50 friends and family in attendance since it's the team's only local appearance all year....not too shabby for a kid who basically just opens the door. Anyway, I thought you of all people would get this. Hope your daughter is still doing well up in Plattsburgh!
I was surprised and not surprised. Not surprised with the move given the credentials of Howe. When she came in kind of figured she was brought in to be the no 1. The surprise to me was the timing. At any rate, agree, Kevin is a standup guy. He knows how to build a winning program and has a lot of experience, both as a high level player and a coach. He always liked our D's, but he knew full well that we were Ivy bound with both of them. Hope Kelsey enjoys her stay there. Several former teammates of my D's play there. Britanny Meade played with Cassandra. Cassandra also played for years against Erica Shaubel. Teal Gove played hockey with both Cassandra and Vanessa, mostly Vanessa. I coached Teal and her younger sister Tyne in soccer for several years. Former platty All American Jenn Clarke hails from our association as well.
Great to hear from you, and I'm glad your daughter found a place to feel at home. I've had truly just a couple of conversation starters with my daughter about finding a different home, but she insists she loves it at Mercyhurst, and doesn't really care much about the lack of ice time. Sure she'd like to play, but she seems to love everything else about the experience enough that she wouldn't trade it for playing time elsewhere. Of course you understand, this is killing ME, lol, but she insists she's happy, and so we cheer on her friends week after week.

DEFINITELY let me know the next time you're in the area. I work right in Cambridge, and live just 20 minutes north of downtown, so the likelihood of coffee and a whoopie pie is strong, unless I'm in Erie of course. LOL

Oh, and thanks for the vote of confidence on my normalcy. Obviously not everyone would agree, but I'll gladly take the compliment! :)
    Thanks for your support!

Steph was both surprised and thrilled to get the start, though she would have liked to have seen a little more action. But, she'll take it! Niagara had beaten us only a few short weeks ago, so it certainly wasn't a given that the team would dominate the way they did.

Thanks again for putting in a kind word.
    :)
Yes, this is true! I apologize on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and I thank the rest of the country for a job well done!

    Tootles, Nancy!
Well at least we got the house! I'm hoping with the Dems still in control of the Senate and Presidency for the next two years it will play to our advantage come 2012.
You would on one hand be proud to know that I have spent the last 7 months functioning as the volunteer Finance Committee Chairman for a Rep. challenger for US Congress, running against a 14 year Dem. incumbent with a 98%+ voting record "with party" (100% with Pelosi). Unfortunately the mud slinging in our district has been severe. Some politicking still to go this weekend, so wish us luck! See the following last minute money bomb which ran just last week. It started with our candidate at the bottom of a ladder, and our opponent and Nancy Pelosi at the top of the Capitol. Over the course of the week, our candidate climbed the ladder, held the Constitution out for them to read, and as you can see here finally sent them off with Pink Slips! We can only hope this plays out in reality.

www.billhudakmoneybomb.com, and you can google Bill Hudak to see a variety of articles, mostly with a leftist slant bashing us.

Enjoy the next few days, and cross your fingers!
With the injury bug biting the Gophers early I find myself wishing Liz Turgeon was here to help. Hope she's doing well. No idea what the chances are, maybe slim to none...but I wouldn't mind if she showed up in Minneapolis for 2nd semester.
Hope all is well with you. Shocked with the Clarkson results sofar. Still early, so I'm sure they can right the schip. Off course I'm cheering for Brown. I do know Lucky and Rattray, but have not talked to them recently. I'll be in Princeton tomorrow to take in the first Brown games.
