The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
🤷♂️not sure. At the end of this past season, everyone was saying his contract was up, and then he ended up getting a one-year extension. That's what I had heard and believed to be true. But SLU never confirmed that an extension was given. Everyone I have spoken with at SLU since then says he...
The contract is up after this coming year, and current assistants are signed for the upcoming year. D-III hockey is coming for all of us sooner than we would like to admit, with the NIL/Transfer Portal NCAA Era upon us now.
He is locked in for this coming year. SLU wants nothing to do with paying off Brekke and his staff, only to have to pay up for another coach and his staff. As I have said repeatedly, unless there are major administrative changes at the top of SLU, all roads lead to D-III sooner then later.
I...
Starting with the Carvel debacle, the administration's goal at SLU has been to drop the program down... going to be tough to see Appleton with 6 spectators watching SLU play Morrisville soon.
"Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity." Until there is a change, nothing will get better. We have had this same conversation a couple of times now in Brekke's tenure. Won a couple of games down the stretch, the guys really like him, and...
Sorry for bringing up the 70's but the 70's actually look good compared to what we have gone through the past decade with Morris & Brekke. 10 years without an ounce of support from the Administration and here we are... just sad
The worst seven years in SLU hockey's 100-year history (including the horrific 70s when the program was going to be dropped to DIII),...enough said. Time to turn the page and start a real rebuild.
Thanks Rainman!!!

Yes, they beat #4 Oswego 4-1 at Oswego on Saturday night. Not having anything close to the seasons they had, racking up 15 NJCAA National Championships under Terry Martin, but they knock off and show some glimpses versus the big dogs from time to time.
