UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I’d be very surprised if the increase in ticket prices benefits the hockey program. I get that the department/school is in dire straits financially and there are no great options, but I think they would be better off being transparent as far as where the money is going.

Not sure I understand why Maine HAD to get CHL kids. There were no rules requiring teams to have a minimum amount or anything like that. Ultimately Maine did bring a number in because of how bad the traditional recruits were. If they had been better Maine could have been pickier with CHL kids...

I think where we disagree is I’m not sure the term addict applies. He clearly has major physical problems and most likely needs pain management. Whatever the circumstances are, he obviously shouldn’t have been behind the wheel yesterday. This is somewhat of an aside, but I think as a society we...

Where in my post did I say he should be excused? You’re definitely right as far as the average person, but he’s got a unique situation given his age and number of surgeries. I’m sure he’s in a lot of pain the vast majority of the time.

I don’t think there is much doubt his issues stem more from physical problems versus boredom, depression, stress, etc. I’m not sure what you really can do for someone like him where his body is so beat up.

The game used to start at like 8:00, it’s starting at 3:00 this year.

This might have happened last year as well, but really sucks they’re putting the championship game up against the third round of masters. Massive **** you to fans.

Or just a donation to the athletic department. I’m sure they’ll just adjust how much they give each team depending on what is received in donations. I doubt these donations make any difference to whichever team you donate to.

It’s massively impressive that Borek was able to get Merrimack into the NCAA’s with two completely different groups of players and he recruited all of them. Also, that he was able to overcome the passing of their assistant coach who played at UNH.

It’s hard for me to believe there were better options out there than the guys Maine brought in.

Is Ben Murphy still an assistant there? My guess is it would be him, Ronan, Moore, and Guite in the mix. Maybe the Quinnipiac assistant from Maine as well.

Not that it would necessarily go to the hockey team, but I believe if he left the school would get compensation from UMN.

Could they add COTA around the Miami race? I really feel bad for David Malukas. It sucks that nascar/Kaulig couldn’t punish Dye without amplifying the incident.

Maine didn’t have any losses when they scored four goals and only a couple when they had three. I’m not saying Maine’s goaltending was great, but the overriding theme in most of their losses was not scoring.
