The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
If he recovers from his injury after Drummondville is out of the playoffs but before whichever team he signs with's AHL team is done, then could be an ATO, with the NHL contract beginning 25-26. Will likely end up in the AHL at first like most young goalies. The injury looked pretty tough...
I'd be surprised if Riley Mercer went NCAA. Word was he had gotten close to signing with an NHL team a few weeks ago, might still be in the works but waiting for season to end.
CHL playoff updates:
Most all series have finished game 3, except Spokane/Vancouver.
OHL:
Brantford v North Bay: BFD 3-0
Barrie v Niagara: BAR 2-1
Kingston v Sudbury: KGN 3-0 KGN Guindon (UVM) keeps scoring, G Schenkel (Robert Morris) leads playoffs in GAA, 2nd in save percentage.
Oshawa v...
For once we get the entire incident report... Apparently last week, the Niagara IceDogs team went to see a movie and were kicked out for yelling and throwing food. A reporter heard the story and confirmed the link between the movie theatre incident and punishment with someone from OHL...
Eli Barnett got into 8 games, averaged 10:28 TOI, took 1 penalty, was a +6. Last played at Union. He's not there to put up points, but at least one person on this thread liked his progress. I liked what I saw but certainly wasn't a ton to see. Didn't get much opportunity to prove his worth...
When I mentioned how some teams are known for being better run than others, one of the notorious "others" is the #7 Niagara IceDogs, who in typical fashion gave a perfect example of why they are considered that yesterday.
Every other off-ice scandal you hear about in the OHL is usually...
I am by default! Any team with a baby shark on it gets my love (hence my crossover knowledge of both CHL and NCAA). Penn State gets extra love for having Reese Laubach, who is not only a Sharks draft pick but a San Jose native and former San Jose Jr. Shark. Plus an extra shoutout to San Jose...
Feels like making the Frozen Four is enough of a reason to at least start a thread.
Hell of a season so far, going from bottom of B1G to the first ever frozen four. Most impressive in the playoffs is that the first line has been targeted so extremely that the depth has needed to show up and it...
I’d predict that to be a good boost, depending on the players and how quickly they are able to acclimate. WHL players might have an easier time adjusting since the W is more physical than the others. The drop off in schedule intensity will likely help all players with more opportunities to...
Looks like Baie-Comeau had just some pretty significant injuries right before the playoffs, which lead to the Dwyer call up on March 19th. F Justin Poirier is out for 4 weeks and D Alexis Bernier is done for the season. I'm guessing they had enough defensemen on their roster to compensate but...
ok, QMJHL results time:
Rimouski win 6-2, Mathieu (Northeastern) 2 goals, Fauchon (Providence) 3a.
Halifax beating Drummondville appears to have something to do with an injury to their great goaltender Riley Mercer in the 3rd period. All 3 Moosehead goals were scored in the 3rd once the backup...
After all results March 28th... Every series has completed 1 game, one QMJHL series has had 2.
OHL playoffs had every higher seed win their playoff game 1 except for Saginaw, Erie Otters with the (sort of) upset. Tough to outscore your problems when you get down 8-0 before figuring out how to...
Aaron Portzline (CBJ writer for The Athletic) reports 2024 4th overall pick by CBJ, C Cayden Lindstrom should be heading to Michigan State in the fall. Great player, big body center, potential for power forward, also a lot of injury issues kept him out for big chunks of the past 2 seasons-...
