  • The Gophers looked great in their win over Cornell on Friday. I'm rooting them on against UW in today's championship.
sorry for taking so long to reply. and i see that no one has replied to that question yet! i have watched them play for the gophers, fighting sioux, and team usa and I have no reason to believe that they are underrated. Also, before UND developed some more depth, they had (still somewhat do) have large targets on their backs. I think that their personal frustration may have inflated their PIM's. As you can see this year, with more of a supporting cast, J Lam has cut down on PIM's and also increased her points. Also, most of those are assists. I have my own personal bias, and even though I think Irwin is a goon, I know she is a good player too.
Brooky, I'm a little low key about this but my daughter is the backup goalie for Mercyhurst. I don't use the forum to hype her or her team, though there are enough hints out there such that many people might have figured that out. I was at Ridder for the previous year's Frozen Four. We lost to Cornell in a game we certainly didn't expect to lose.....then, as you'll recall, there was that seemingly infinitely long 3 overtime final between Duluth and Cornell. i was there for both of those games. Sadly, after our loss to Cornell, we barely stuck around for only some of the first period between Minny and Duluth.
Yes I notice and it really bothers me! I have been playing hockey for 20 years and have coached a few minor league teams. I feel like I know what I am talking about although I know I have a lot to learn!
Hi Brooky! Thank you for the message. I would say the biggest difference compared to last season is Cornell has much better depth at all positions, particularly offensively. Cornell looked great right out of the gate to start the season, and I was more or less pleased with their performance/effort until about a month or so ago. At which point, Cornell started getting a bit sloppy and just looked like they were mailing it in. Cornell's last two games have been much better, and I'm hoping the team has returned to their early season form. I certainly think Cornell vs BU will be a good game, but am very hopefull Cornell will win.

At this point, I think Wisconins biggest advantage over everyone else is their depth. Cornell has two very good lines and a solid third line, but from what I've seen, Wisconsin has 3 extremely good lines with a very solid forth. Personally, I don't think BC has a prayer, but I didn't see BC beating UMN either. Should be a great frozen four!
to avoid clogging up the badger forum i figured id message you this way in response to your post "what exactly is minn doing wrong" i didnt mean to say that minn or any school for that matter is doing anything wrong minn did everything they could do even building arena solely for the girls, bottom line is that whatever UMD and MINN and the rest of the WCHA are doing individually at each venue its not filling the stands,
and i agree saying that the umd ad is preoccupied more with his own programs than womens hockey
Hit the return key too fast on the rep... I was going to say, C'mon man. Can we let this go?? I mean, aren't we both on the same page in that we want to support our teams, of course, but also raise awareness of the women's game and get more fans??
LOL....Ok, buddy. Its not so much that Im not open to a different opinion than my own, its just that when someone has an opinion that is just so outright wrong, I will say the things that I said.
You are the only person Ive ever heard say that Madison isnt what I described it as. Madison is described by everyone in the way that I described it. Im sorry that you dont see it that way, but thats reality.
There is no need for need for me to sign it since it shows you who is sending it. Let it go and move on.
Brooky, I absolutely will check with Deb and Hux. If I met you at Ridder, I think we Mercyhurst fans were still very much in shock and so I apologize if I don't remember. I realize that doesn't sound awfully classy, but it is what it is however arrogant, that we Mercyhurst fans most seriously expected to win it all that year. Perhaps our paths will accross again over the next two years, at which time I surely hope I will be much better company and much more of my normal happy go lucky, care free self. :)
Brooky, A Pre-Season Poll sounds good. Busy this weekend, but should find some time to give it a start next Week.....

    Hey Brooky,

Just curious. What is the significance of the number "600 !" in your signature ?.
    Hi Brooky,

I 100% plus agree with your comments in the Brown thread. Parting of the ways doing it the right way and no need for anyone to take any further "Dig"s at the recently departed.
