    What a game. Huge win, have to love the weekend even with a tough result last night. Maine looked every bit as good as Q, who also looked really good and showed they deserve their high rank. Team is night and day compared to last season, they work so much harder and are already playing as a team...

    Objectively they played well, arguably better than Q, but frustrating to lose like that even if you were the underdog going in. I wasn't that impressed with Russell tonight.     Some miscues led to the two goals against, but a LOT of time spent in the shadow of the balcony in QUs end. If they can keep that general quality of play up for the next two periods I like their chances.

    No disagreement here. I believe until last year all of Barr's teams have ranked highly in terms of not taking penalties, so hopefully they can return to that form this year.

    Those were both at Alfond Arena, and in neither of them was Maine trailing 2-0 in the third period before subsequently taking four penalties. The resilience we saw tonight to come back and tie the score, with two goals in less than seventy seconds, would have been nowhere to be found last season.

    Tons of zone time in the second, felt like HC hardly had any chances while Maine felt camped in the offensive zone. 35 shots attempted as per the live stats, but only 10 on net, compared to 20/12 for HC.     Much better third period. In all, I think it was a solid win, despite a shaky second period. I think I would agree with blackbears9's three stars, also with a shoutout for Fowler.
