UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

He's in this very thread, just posted a huge spiel about how awful Barr is. WhistleBB009

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I was wondering when our old friend Whistle would show up this weekend; surprised it took him this long. I don't have a ton of confidence in the next week for the final three games before the break. We'll see how they go, but my expectations are quite low now. UML is a shadow of the program...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

This team is in deep trouble, as we all obviously know. I dont know what the answer is. They clearly woke up in the third, but for me all it did was make me realize how lazily they played in the second period. Boija made a few big stops but was still a net negative again. Rousseau should be the...

    Way more effort this period.

I've been wondering lately if the Bennett hire has backfired in some way. I have no evidence for that assertion whatsoever, but with how his tenure ended in Schenectady maybe it wasnt the right move? Rousseau is in for the third period.

This team looks atrocious. Boija is terrible.

Sad to see Komarov come out, I like his game. Djurasevic being scratched is deserved with his recent play. 13 forwards is not usually the look they go for, interested to see how it works out.

Another interesting stat I dug out today because I was curious: Time of Maine's first goal in each game this year, sorted by outcome: Wins: 3:09, 5:09, 21:06, 3:19, 0:59, 18:54, 6:29, 1:32 Losses: 60:00 (shutout), 9:43, 60:00 (SO), 34:44, 33:05, 60:00 (SO) Tie: 2:09

I've seen some people highlight Poirier in these types of discussions, and honestly I dont really agree. I see a good amount of fight and fire from him, and I think he does want to be here (though he definitely knows he isn't staying for very long). I think he's getting added scrutiny because...

UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

Keeping it real, I agree with this. I said it when they showed the replay that it probably should have been a 2 min minor for interference, but they couldn't apply that retroactively as we know. It wasn't a headshot, but Russell definitely stepped into him on purpose.

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

From Dimitri's latest TTRR article from last night: “We don’t have that next level of push in our team right now. We have a C culture on our team. It’s not that we don’t have good players, and we can’t do some things we can. Our culture is just C. It’s really disappointing. Credit to UNH, they...

Regarding NPI, I've seen some say that it will stabilize in a big way once the full schedule has gone thru, more than the PW ever did. I don't know enough to say if that's true or not, but I hope it is, because as of now I agree with you that it's pretty ludicrious with how it looks.

If I could give this ten thumbs up, I would. Summarizes my thoughts perfectly. I was literally thinking of those three exact guys, plus Lynden Breen. I've already mentioned Taylor Makar by name a few times this year as it relates to the team missing his leadership (and size), and I have to...
