Most schools do.

Well, the Wolverines are also at least two iterations removed from the Red Berenson era, who vowed there would never be women's varsity hockey in Ann Arbor as long as he was involved.

From a recruiting perspective, it appears that Crowley has either turned extremely provincial or lazy. When is the last time she has had a Minnesota player on her team. Ohio State had 8 this year and Wisconsin had 5.
It almost reminds me of the University of Minnesota men's teams under...

There have been been 20 NCAA D3 final fours. 16 of those 20 have been held in the east. Again, the west accounts for 1/3 of all D3 teams

And I'm going to speak against bodyup88's suggestion #3. As I've mentioned before, some schools just aren't given the budget to make cross country trips for the weekend. Plattsburgh is more than willing to play whomever comes east (not just to Plattsburgh, but wherever within travel constraints they...

I have heard that Greiner is gone, too. It's interesting that Concordia still lists Greiner as the head coach on their web site. It seems like there is usually a press release thanking her for her efforts and that a change in leadership is happening and a national search is underway....

That doesn't help any of us who don't know what you're talking about.

Sounds like your solution is to use "very smart mathematicians" to solve this issue. Maybe we can also use some professional athletic administrators to teach differential equations and quantum physics at our universities then. It sounds to me like you're giving these committee members no...

I'm certainly not hearing any complaints coming from Duluth regarding Crowell. Moreover, she had a bevy of fifth year players come back this year. If she was an issue, many of those players would have departed....

I would agree with spwood that it appears to be a NESCAC bias rather than an eastern bias, at least this year. I think the rub for many people is the question of having 4 teams from the same league in an 11 team bracket. To reiterate, there were more teams from the NESCAC (4) in the tourney than there...

That's unfortunate. Sounds like the facilities were far inferior to the level of play this weekend - the NCAA has a lot of things to figure out.

Think of the revenue they are giving up this weekend. Having this regional at Xcel would draw 19,000. Can they "buy out" Fargo? haha...

For those of us who weren't there, what were the issues for the fans and participant athletes in Amherst?

Agreed. But for the last two years they've been the barrier to another Cardinal title. And just think, that strength of schedule must be taking a big hit now. Three of their last four losses to those pesky western teams. And the other loss to Cortland: shut out by a "western" goalie.

In all seriousness, Plattsburgh has been phenomenal over the years. However, it wasn't COVID that ended the Plattsburgh title run at FOUR. It was the Mark Bolding-led Norwich Cadets that won the title in 2018, defeating the Elmira squad that took out the Cardinals in the semis that year. Plattsburgh...

I'm sure Referee Jess LeClerc from Maine and her east coast crew were plotting for that western school. Penalties ended up 4 for Plattsburgh and 2 for GAC.
Plattsburgh has now been spanked by Gustavus in the semi's two years in a row; as the great Pedro Martinez once famously said, I guess...

Great game, Coltvet with a great job on the set up for the game winner. Would love to see a minutes played chart - she was out there a lot. Two of three Plattsburgh's losses to the west, where there just isn't much strength of schedule.

The first semifinal should be interesting today. GAC took an early punch last year, giving up a goal just over a minute into the game. They recovered nicely, however, and scored themselves less than a minute later. After that, they really dominated play, outshooting the cardinals 12-4 in the first...

Abigail Stow had a tremendous career at UWRF and will go down as one of their all time greats. She was victimized this season by a bit of a slow start, however, scoring only 3 goals in her first 16 games. She came on strong in the second half with 12 goals and 15 assists in her last 13 games. Ultimately,...
