    Iowa,
USCHO women's hockey schedule page says semi-finals are on Friday (March 8), NOT Saturday.
    Friday, March 8, 2:00 pm Cornell-Colgate 6:00 pm StLawrence-Clarkson
Finals are Saturday March 9, 5:00 pm....

With Minnesota winning today, is it safe to conclude that all eight teams remaining in the ECAC and WCHA tournaments will make the NCAA tournament, wih only ranking placements being dependent on the results of the two league tournaments?

Looking at the three leagues with automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament without a team in the top 7/8 PWR:

With Franklin Pierce upsetting LIU (PWR #18T) in the NEWHA Tournament, am I correct to deduce that the NEWHA will be represented in the NCAA Tournament by the winner of next Saturday's...

  • Tough season for the players and fans. But traveling Engineer fans are great folks -- got to meet some of them this weekend.

Congrats to the Raiders for their 3rd place regular season finish, well above their 6th pace ranking in the pre-season poll. ... and an undefeated 2024 home stand.

Tonight's game with Union was very exciting to watch, as both teams skated fast and hard.

    Colgate's quarterfinal...

With Colgate, Clarkson, St.Lawrence and Cornell all winning today and sweeping their quarterfinals, the match-ups are set for next week's semi-finals at Colgate. Colgate will face Cornell, with Clarkson facing St. Lawrence. All four are playing well, so it should be an exciting set of games.

No overtime games today, unlike yesterday with two. The top four sweep the quarterfinals and will play next weekend at Colgate, with traveling partners playing each other: St. Lawrence-Clarkson, and Cornell-Colgate.

Looks like all four teams should make the NCAA tournament, too.

7 and 0 at home, averaging 2.0 GAA, in 2024. Would be amazing if we can achieve 10 and 0 at home in 2024! Union will be tough, as of course will be the quarterfinals matchup.

Let's cheer for RPI to take Cornell to overtime today, and for the Raiders to beat Union. That would give the Raiders...

  • Ohio State got 6, with no empty netters.
Wisconsin got 5, with 1 empty netters
Wisconsin got 5, with 2 empty netters
Minnesota got 5, with 2 empty netters
St. Thomas got 5, with 3 empty netters
and, of course, now Duluth, with no empty netters....

Aren't Colgate & LIU common opponents for Duluth and Quinnipiac?...

Looks like Dartmouth might have an easier path to fourth place than Clarkson. Clarkson has to play league leading Quinnipiac next weekend. And I think Dartmouth has the advantage head-to-head, having beat and lost in the shootout to Clarkson.

What a crazy weekend in the North Country (Colgate and Cornell visiting Clarkson and St. Lawrence)! All four games go to overtime; each team gets three points for the weekend; three games went to overtime because of extra-attacker goals (with Cornell getting two extra attacker goals against St. Lawrence...

I don't think Clarkson will be taking tonight's game lightly. With Dartmouth winning this afternoon Clarkson is now in 5th place one point behind the Big Green. To have any chance of ending up in the top four, a win tonight for Clarkson is crucial, given that next weekend they play at Quinnipiac....

Of course I'm disappointed that the Raiders lost a three goal lead. But we have to remember that there's another team on the ice also fighting hard to win, which does what is needed to persevere. Sometimes I look at it as the other team comes back and wins the game, not that our team lost.

I believe you're correct, Iowa. I note the women's one game eliminations look like they are scheduled to be on Saturday afternoon this coming weekend.

And get ready for March 1-2! Men's last regular season weekend at home against RPI and Union, and women's quarterfinals playoffs (best 2of...

  • Though the top four places are set for the regular season and playoff seeding, next weekend's games will be important for Pairwise rankings. Let's hope for solid, competitive games by each of the WCHA teams to end the regular season. And congrats to tOSU for their outstanding season.

With the weekend sweep the Raiders are now six points up on 4th place Clarkson and eight points up on 5th place Union. The Raiders need only five points in the final four games to finish the regular season in the top four. It may not be easy, though, since both Clarkson and Union will get their chances...
