Yeah, I'd like to see the program establish itself, draw at least decent crowds (2000+, anyway), before we take them on as members. Given their location, they should be able to pick up games fairly easily as independents. Can't we wait and see how that works out first?...

Luke Strand, head coach of Sioux City, was an assistant at Wisconsin in one of Eaves' last years. He certainly would not be an exciting hire.
The more interesting Musketeer coach might be assistant Colten St. Clair, 29, who was a grinder in his NoDak days. The Muskies host Madison this Sunday...

Prior to May 1, I thought every day that went by made it more likely that he was toast. But now, I think every day that goes by makes it less likely that he's out.
Yes, it's unusual for D1 coaches not to have a contract, but it's the norm for the vast number of people....

They're also playing against a lot of 20 year-olds, and have a roster that rotates in and out with other commitments. Winning is somewhat unlikely for that team. Development is what matters....

The Michigan State rumors seem the least likely to me. And I'll say up front, I have no relationship with Coach Hastings, (Other than a couple of drinks with him at a Boston bar after a sweep of BU in 2017!), but I don't see that Michigan State is a big step up, unless they commit more money and attention...Last edited by purpleinnebraska; 04-27-2022, 12:17 PM.
