How does "it's changing daily" fit with "OSU womens hockey will have the ability to offer more $$$ than all the other D1 womens hockey programs in the country"? Do you guys still think that that is the case?...

The "nut", the "money quote" (pun intended) of what we've been discussing for the last number of posts and pages is Sierra saying "OSU womens hockey will have the ability to offer more $$$ than all the other D1 womens hockey programs in the country" in reference to the...Last edited by robertearle; Today, 11:42 AM.

How does "the scholarship and roster limits are now in limbo" translate to "OSU womens hockey will have the ability to offer more $$$ than all the other D1 womens hockey programs in the country"?...

There was a poster here (or on the Wisconsin thread?) who was saying that somebody at Shattuck was 'bad mouthing' OSU or Muzzeral or some such, and it was going to affect recruiting. I should look it up to be more accurate, but......

I actually have a digital subscription to the NY Times, but apparently that isn't good enough to open it up, even though the url is both "nytimes" and "athletic"...

Big Ten Media day for football is a long-standing event. Two or three years ago, 'they' added a Media Day with student athletes and coaches for volleyball (it generates 'content' for BTN and for social media). So the BTN-associated WCHA adding one makes sense. I assume there's such a day for men's hockey...

Her first year at OSU was the 2019-20 season; she did not red shirt, she played in two games. Noone was given any extra time for the 2019-20 season. It was a "completed" regular season, and any seniors on the NCAA tournament teams - like Abby Roque, for instance - were simply out of luck and...

I am aware of all of that (in fact, one cannot 'declare' for a redshirt until the season is over). It does not change the fact that the "dangerous" part of participation was being on the ice with the other teams and players, outside of the team "bubble.".
Are you aware...Last edited by robertearle; 09-08-2024, 06:52 PM.

Learfield is a communications company; Badger football and basketball radio broadcasts have been "Learfield" productions for years and years. I don't recall specifically about Badger WH radio broadcasts, but it would be a good assumption....

So educate me.
What in the judge's concerns regarding the proposed settlement do you see as giving Ohio State a singular advantage, that you claimed was the case back when we started all this? Please be as detailed as possible, including page number references in the House v NCAA settlement...

Right.
And you guys knew that the judge was going to raise issues with the settlement a month ago, because of your great "insider info" in his courtroom? With his law clerks? Because he was discussing his deliberations with you?
Oh, brother!
smh......Last edited by robertearle; 09-08-2024, 12:17 AM.

It doesn't to me.
Extra COVID years were awarded to those players who participated in the unknown of what the COVID season would turn out to be. The entirety of the Ivy League chose to not participate, so none of those athletes were given the extra year of eligibility. Because they did...

Lawrence is located in Appleton, WI, where I grew up. I haven't lived there for forty years, but my sister still does, and I visit a couple times a year. Admittedly, I pay little attention to DIII hockey, but I'm aware of St Norbert's (in De Pere, 25 miles away) and UW-Stevens Point (maybe 50 miles?)...

Statistics for Clarkson last year show 25 players played in at least one game; one player played in a single game, but did register a shot; one played in nine games, zero shots, one shot blocked.
Statistics for RPI show 29 players played in at least one game; one is a goalie listed as having...

I think the context is pretty clear. Soon-to-be-implemented roster limits that, yes, will impact men's hockey, but have little if any impact on women's hockey....

IIRC, that's how they did the 'other teams' introductions last year, too - basketball, men's cross country, etc. Maybe the team members have more fun by being more 'active' that way?
(The football team was quite unimpressive, IMO. If W Michigan could have held on to those three or four...

Those "Hot Hands" chemical packets work well, and last a really long time, as long as they're getting enough oxygen buried down in your boots to keep the chemical reaction going....
