This. My views on NIL and the portal are pretty clear from earlier posts so no need to repeat. And the apparently muddled arena situation doesn't help.

Packed house. Playoff-like atmosphere. Two shutouts, five games with only one goal scored = 2.42 goals per game. No sustained presence in the O-zone. The 41 shots last night look good but only a handful were challenging.

Beanpot LXXII: The Beat Goes On
Less than a month to go so time for the chatter to begin. BU vs H in the Feb 3 early game; BC and NU in the nightcap. BC (12-3-1) is having a season for the ages; BU (9-7-1) at least is +.500; H and NU not so much. Which means that one of those two will probably win. -

Without a doubt, it will be Denver, which just lost in a shootout to the UNLV ACHA club team. Yes, it was only an exhibition; yes, the HC and top Dman are away with the USA WJC team; yes, some fringe players got ice time. But still...

I watched via the stream, and it was abysmal. Spent most of the game pinned in their own end. Occasional trips to the O-zone were short-lived and unproductive. Only real scoring threats were the Williams and Lund breakaways. Whitehead kept it respectable on paper. It is what it is.Leave a comment:
