What a coincidence! I was at a meeting in Baltimore around the same time period. I can't remember the year, but I also stumbled upon it. Unlike you, I was able to walk right in and there was no one around but me. I hiked up into the grandstand, sat down and took it all in....

I don't think it has anything to do with his relationship with the players or his ability to coach. He does appear to have an unhealthy life style and looks like a "walking heart attack"....

Yes, definitely an advantage! Which is why I was stunned when Maine lost to Albany in the championship game there two years ago. Great ball pressure by Maine and Smith comes out shooting three's at the tip off. She never does that! Maine really wanted that game more!...

In addition to the coach, I would also add that the reputation of the school is a big factor in attracting talent. Both BC and BU being private schools are held in very high regard academically....

I was at the game and your description is accurate. UMass carried play much of the third period and were not rewarded. Maine had problems getting the puck out of their defensive zone and were out shot 16-4 in the third period. I'm not discrediting Maine in getting the win as they played excellent...

Brings back memories. I was at the Bradley Center in 2006 when Wisconsin defeated Maine 5-2 in semi-final. Wisconsin went on to defeat BC 2-1. The Wisconsin fan base was huge! There was a "sea of red" in the stands. I think that's the last time Maine played Wisconsin....

Tim would have had a national title with his own players if a particular goal tender had not let him down....

And an assist I believe. In the semi-final against Salisbury he had the winning goal in OT for a 4-3 win. This is what head coach Tim Whitehead said after the game about his top line of Sadowski, LeDrew and Simmers. “They’re fierce competitors, they’re not just skilled players looking...

That was a tough quarter-final game! KUA won 5-4 in OT. KUA's goal tender McMeniman isn't too shabby either....

Congratulations to Kimball Union Academy! #2 seed KUA defeated #1 seed Cushing Academy to win the Elite 8 NEPSAC Championship at Harvard University today. KUA has won four titles in the past 11 years under Tim Whitehead.

I like that philosophy! It wasn't that Maine didn't have opportunities. Maine was 0 for 6 on the PP in the second game against NU!...

I haven't seen Vermont play this year so this is all speculation. They split with NU last month and just lost both games to BC this weekend. They have "won" a couple of games in a shootout. They have been up and down with no consistency. They have very good size, but I don't know if they...

Maine drops to 9th in pairwise. NU gave Maine no time and space. Completely dominated them as the score accurately shows. Maine needs to get bigger down the road , but still keep the speed. NU has two players from Maine. Williams from Biddeford had an assist on the first goal and the other player...
