In my best John McEnroe impersonation "you can not be serious" with this outrage
The idea of even having a poll in college hockey when all that matters is the PWR is so outdated. At least in college football the pollsters still matter when they do their CFP rankings....

How much can coaches do in regard to faceoffs? That sounds like it might just be a personnel issue. I am sure they are working at it.
The one criticism I would have is Andre Gasseau has won 28 of 38 faceoffs. Best clip on the team but he's taken far fewer because he doesn't play center....

That's probably the way the numbers would dictate anyway. Top 4 in PWR all Eastern teams right now with three from HE. Around this time last year is when Hockey East took a nosedive by losing some really bad games....

I think a couple guys got banged up yesterday but returned to game. Avenged a NC loss from last year by beating ND. Would be nice to do the same to Harvard after last year's Beanpot. We'll see how they come out. A big win over ND in a sold out Compton could lead to a letdown at snoozy Bright.

About now it's ok to at least peak at the PWR. An extremely early hypothetical but let's say QU, BU, BC all end up with #1 seeds and BC is lowest ranked of the three. Hello Missouri! Another stupid regional there and a terrible state for BC hockey. So if you can't catch QU/BU maybe a 2 seed somewhere...

Ya that is an odd scheduling move. If you're playing two games around Thanksgiving why not get one at home. But I think they did this same thing a few years back. I forget what year but it was same thing. At ND and then at Harvard. And then they also did a home and home with ND on one of these weekends....

BC-BU in first round of Beanpot this year seems absolutely criminal. NU bringing up the rear at 2-7 and 0-7 in Hockey East!
Hockey East currently has 6 of top 11 in the PWR. That is impressive. I STILL question UNH but to date they just keep winning. I'm also not completely sold on UMass...

Nice "bounceback" tonight with Fowler getting his first shutout...

I forget what the PWR breakdown is for an OT win but even just for HE standings you want to win at home against a bad UConn team in regulation. Still, very important to just get the OT win and move on.

Again, teams celebrate shootout "wins" the same way across the league. It ain't a BC thing. But I guess they should all act like robots and only celebrate if they are the last team celebrating in April....

It's after a weekend of games, players let out some harmless emotion. Again, lighten up....

That's irrelevant when it comes to being upset about players chirping back at fans after a game. It's meaningless. While it's only a shootout all teams I have seen react the same way. They view it as a win. They aren't computing in their heads at that very moment that they went 0-1-1 on the weekend...

Lighten up. Would you like them to give a stick tap to your precious students? If you wanna dish it out you can take it in return....

Interesting to see you guys talk about Perreault's dad as Gabe is currently playing wing.
I just looked up the faceoff stats and Maine is now #1 in country. I guess the question would be is that because they played BC twice. Ha.
What's glaring is that Will Smith has been absolutely...Last edited by J.D.; 11-12-2023, 09:04 AM.

I don't know where it compares with other HE teams but Alfond is the new Whitt or Tsongas. Yes, BC won the shootout but tough getting an actual W up there. With that said I don't know who is going to beat Main up there this year. They are absolutely legit. Credit to BC for scoring that late equalizer....

Alfond always a tough proposition for BC. That was a damn good weekend of hockey though. I don't know who is gonna beat you up there. You sit at #2 in the PWR. That's nothing to scoff at by now. It's deep enough into the season to at least take a look at it. I think it would end up being highly disappointing...

Valid point but BC is 7-1 so that potential issue hasn't shown itself yet anyway....

You didn't understand the question? I figured it was easy to digest in regard to this looking like Maine's best team in over a decade....
