I have seen it talked about on the BU thread about needing your degree to be head coach? Brooks Orpik kept his promise to York and completed his. He's still just volunteer coach but will be interesting to see how his career develops.

Slam dunk seems strong in that this would be unorthodox. It could end up being a great hire though. It's definitely an interesting case study. First Norwegian born associated with BU hockey?...

Was coming here to say you guys could probably do a lot worse than Luke Strand as your next coach. Might not be flashy but a ballsy move to hitch his wagon to Andy Johnson and it paid off....

What top uncommitted recruits for next year are still available? Also, coaches can't just think 4 years down the line as by then they could be out of a job. Gotta do whatever you can to get some results and hope the recruiting follows. He was never gonna be able to bring in top players for this upcoming...

John McCarthy was named HC in AHL. Wonder if he was interested in BU job.

The lack of AD could be complicating things. Even if Brown wanted his own guys maybe he was told he'd have to wait to discuss with new AD. It's not the worst thing in the world for Brown to get settled and then take a hard look at everything within the program over the next year. That's probably one...

It could end up actually being a Greg Brown situation all over again. Brown waited his time and eventually bolted with Quinn to the NHL and then landed up with HC job in USHL. I have no idea what a USHL HC makes but I would imagine Ayers will start looking around for HC jobs elsewhere now. Unless of...

Ya I don't love that but at the same time he coached with Ayers so he knows what he's getting. Brown can get settled with the current staff and truly evaluate over the next year or two.

And he's supposed to be one of the best college hockey has. Journalism! Just checked and you're right. The part about Leahy consulting previous president is gone from the article with no acknowledgment that is was total nonsense. Actually, in reading the article again there are many edits that were...

Love the part about how Fr. Leahy consulted the previous BC president on who to hire. The previous president died 5 years ago....

I only came across this when I was looking up Greg Brown but both of Dubuque's assistants have ties to the state of Wisconsin. Not sure if you guys know anything about them.

Right i didn't even mean within the Michigan community. The public opinion from outside is that he should be gone and people can't wait to stomp on his grave. So if Manuel listened to that Mel would already be gone....

Small sample but in the most important games of the year you got blown out by a horrible Maine team and lost to a bad BC team which I believe ultimately cost you in the PWR and blowing home ice and having to play at UConn where you lost. Just adding some context about the first half of the season conveniently...

If it was based on public opinion he'd be gone already. I don't know why everyone is overcomplicating this. The investigation is not complete thus no new contract. They want to keep him but if the investigation reveals that is simply not an option then he's gone....

Damn, Bomber. I thought that was gonna be the PS goal where Gaudreau undressed him...
Didn't Oettinger play against Cornell? I was at those games. Thought he only gave up one goal.
