I will very likely choose the R ballot in the primaries and vote for Doughty. While I won't agree with him on every policy position, he is presenting himself as someone who would be a competent leader, might provide a bit of a check and balance on the otherwise very blue legislature in Mass, and is...

Exactly - which perhaps is why baker is not running again. Odd that he is listed as one of the most popular governors in the country yet likely would get primaried out. The hope is that since mass has open primaries, enough independents choose Doughty....

Agreed about it being Maura’s to lose.
Doughty is positioning himself as the moderate alternative more in the mold of a Bill Weld or Charlie Baker. Who knows if he really has a chance or not....Last edited by ericredaxe; 05-23-2022, 05:34 PM.

Massachusetts has open primaries, so independents can pull a ballot for either party. Independents will without a doubt break for Chris Doughty (who is positioning himself as a moderate republican). Hopefully the independent vote will outweigh the crazy so that Diehl does not make it to the gener...

He won with a plurality both times. The same independent, Eliot Cutter, was on the ballot receiving something like 35% and 9% in the two times he ran. Maine also now has ranked choice voting. LePage could certainly win but certainly not going away....Last edited by ericredaxe; 05-22-2022, 08:18 PM.

People might take you seriously if you had a more sensible view on social issues.
But if you want to talk about mid-terms, here in Massachusetts for the Governors race (where we have had a long run of successful "Rockefeller Republican" types to consider for Governor) we have...Last edited by ericredaxe; 05-20-2022, 05:55 PM.

So the LGBTQ dance in town went off successfully… unclear if any “protesters” tried to show up, but there were swarms of town folks who stood out at the start in a “welcome wall” to show support and to welcome the attendees. Evidently it was attended well by straight and LGBTQ students alike.

What democrats are you talking about? Is there an women's healthcare bill any could have put forward that would have passed the senate in its current makeup?
To me this was a very sensible bill that I would like to see pass but obviously not happening....

Eh - the newspaper has good people at it - the only reason it became “controversial” was because of some out of town crazies....Last edited by ericredaxe; 05-08-2022, 11:10 AM.

Local High School dance in support of the LGBTQ community goes on after initial complaints from a small but vocal contingent of out of town derps.
Word is that this will be very well attended by all local high schoolers, and a huge number of townspeople are on standby to show up in support...

I think to say "can't work something out with them" and to say that Pando would "still be waiting for the job" would indicate they thought they want one of them more than Pando - which may not be the case at all - but if they are doing proper due diligence they are still going to...

Right - especially after perhaps having a sense that you hired the wrong guy the last time around.
i admit it is taking longer than I thought it would though. I remember I was predicting a day that was only a couple of weeks after Albie was let go. (Before Jeff Cox article with the HR...

As previously mentioned - they can have a plan that they are passing the torch to Jay, but still go through a process of interviews etc to make sure it is the right decision....

OK - who wants to look back and research which players were mysteriously missing for a 2 game series?...

Making sure they were right and waiting out the mysterious "Human Resources issue"?
This I agree with - I think most of us have always had a lingering partial feeling that the decision to bring Jay on the staff was not entirely Albie's decision, but who knows? If...
