They're getting paid, so what do they care? Especially in this Moneyball-driven era where most teams load up on entry-level contracts and then let players go as soon as they demand market salaries, they need to chase the $$$ regardless of playing time.... -
This isn't new. The Presidential pardon power has always been virtually limitless. The only caveat is it only applies to federal crimes, and there's an open question whether a President can pardon himself. So Musk apparently live streamed while playing Path of Exile 2 with a character that was clearly built up by others. He had no clue about certain basic mechanics despite having ungodly gear and being near the top of the hardcore ladder (where one death permanently kills your character).
