Given our need for RD I thought Hillditch might sign too. I guess not. Caron was already signed - correct?...

Has anyone seen an Alberni Valley line chart? My guess is that Ziliotto, as a rookie '05 playing on one of the better teams in the league, is playing on a checking line. Frankly, given our defense this season, if he learns to play well in his own end and then gets another year or even two on scoring...Last edited by rpi82; 11-23-2023, 01:01 AM.

Interesting weekend series coming up with Northeastern. Northeastern has scored 20 goals in 9 games, but 12 of them came in their first two regular season games at home against Stonehill and Bentley. In Hockey East they've scored 8 goals in 7 games. By contrast, we've given up 20 goals in our 4 HE games...Last edited by rpi82; 11-20-2023, 05:03 PM.

I agree, but he also has to recognize the issue and be smart about it. He picked up a boarding call in the SLU game that I thought was ridiculous. He gave a nudge (the kind of mini-crosscheck or shove to the back that you see dozens of times in any game without penalty) to a guy about 3 feet from the...

I don’t buy that last interference either. It was two guys side by side leaning on each other. I take back the credit I gave to the refs after the first period.

It was a terrible call by a ref that wasn’t in position to see the puck. The other ref or linesman should have told him the puck was under the check recipient.

Sullivan didn’t follow through on his backcheck. He was in position to break up that play and peeled off.

Two other points:
1) The SLU announcer correctly called the first goal by Ciccarello (sp?) but then his Alzheimer’s kicked in and he complained for 5 minutes that it was Davies. Other than number, position and which side they use to shoot they are the same.
2) we finally...

I went away for 10 minutes and everything changed. Went back and looked at the goals -really nothing spectacular. Just defensive breakdowns and poor goaltending, but I’ll take it. Let’s give Cherapak some support for two periods and get out with a win.

Went back on replay to look at Regula penalty and it was a joke. The Clarkson forward came at Regula as he played the puck in near the wall. Regula reacted to the threat and hit the guy along the boards. The puck was 60 feet away but only a fraction of a second off his stick. If that’s interference...

Those are the two issues that jumped out at me. Union was extremely aggressive and showed no respect for our puck handlers. It was most apparent during the power plays, but it was true even up as well. While we sat back and passively tried to keep them on the outside while (poorly) cutting off passing...

Good timing, because even though the good guys won, that was the best they looked. I must admit to being a bit disappointed. I thought Doc was too concerned about the D because they had faced some of the best offensive teams in the country. I was wrong. Tonight was a series of defensive breakdowns...

I can’t believe that last score. You are up by 2. Make the safest play. Don’t shoot into the forward’s skates.

I watched it several times on replay and it looked like Tinling just reacted to the Union forward skating into him. I’ve never seen a 5 minute major for responding to contact initiated by the other player.
