  • It's hardly as simple as "they could have put ice making equipment into their new arena." A multi-use building has a completely different footprint and cost structure than one designed solely for a single sport. Looking at pictures, it's an intimate 4,000 seat building with seats very close...

  • Unless the CHL educational program has improved tremendously I just shake my head in wonder at decisions like this. Sudbury used a high pick to take him so they were obviously hopeful about signing him, but he proceeded as if he cared about education. Being ranked #222 among North American skaters...

    As much as it ****es me off when a kid commits and then backs out for what he perceives as a better opportunity, we've had to deal with it as a modern reality and this is the unfortunate flipside.     Well, their leading scorer (as a freshman), Hernandez, was a teammate of Mahshie, McIsaac and Jakob Lee at Brooks. I suspect he will have a few suitors and we have a pretty full roster, but if he did come it would be a Bandits reunion in Troy....

  • LIU's main campus is in Brooklyn, but the hockey program runs out of the LIU-Post campus (the old CW Post University) in Nassau County and games are planned for the Islanders practice facility in Eisenhower Park....
