  • Since we hadn't made it to the ECAC final four in 15 years as of 2017, it's kind of an odd statement to say that making it on a consistent basis was a reasonable expectation. However, being competitive for making it to LP and actually doing so at some point in the coming years should have been on the...

Not sure why, but I’ve been watching the Clarkson 4 seed) versus Minnesota (5 seed) women’s game. It’s going to a 4th OT tied 2-2. Which leads to a question that somehow intrigues me - how does a full hockey team from Minnesota even get to Potsdam on short notice? Fly to Ottawa and bus down?

  • I think he meant the biggest upset likely in this year's playoffs. This one was certainly not the biggest or most important upset in our history. RPI fans know that there have been multiple occasions where a low-ranked RPI team upset a high seed in the league playoffs. I can remember 1974 and 1992 (in...

Well it's nice to see the boys are willing to fight to extend their season, but I wish Jake wouldn't take that so literally. This is as solid as I've seen the team all year. Where has this effort been?

  • It's interesting to read that this is the first year we've finished in last since my senior year. Going into that year things weren't very promising and the Poly needed a writer to cover the team. A couple of my friends were on the editorial board and they asked me to sign on and take the assignment...

  • Let's deal with reality because the Joe and the Field House have little in common so you aren't going to get your dream scenario. First, the days of the Field House as a general purpose entertainment venue are over. Those ended with the Knick/TU/MVP and the GFCC. It's a venue for RPI events where 30%-100%...

  • I like the picture of the "state-of-the-art video room." It looks like a small, windows-less conference room with a 43" TV hanging on the wall. Compared to the stadium seating rooms with massive screens that are common in college athletics, it's almost funny. Our state-of-the-art calendar...

  • In recent years the solution to the parking problem has been to draw fewer fans. So I can't see building a parking garage for 17 hockey games per year. Do they still offer shuttle busses from North Lot? There's usually a CDTA bus waiting outside as I leave which I assume is a parking shuttle. I never...
