I didn't read the post as saying Payant was among those told he didn't have a place on the team; the post just separately noted that he was going to enter the transfer portal. Payant did have a hard time breaking into the lineup for a good portion of the season.
Cuts happen annually in...

Thoughtful comments throughout your post rpi82 . Chiming in to add that Prapavessis is still playing in the ECHL. Jared and Mike were good players, but I think they got dragged down by being part of some really bad teams in the late Appert to early Smith years. Other than the year RPI had a 100% healthy...

The forwards were the better group and you didn't mention the best one (Polacek). That defensive group was a mixed bag. Bailen was tremendous, but he was a transfer from Bowling Green back when there were rumors the program was on the chopping block. Koudys had potential but left after one year and...Last edited by DavidNardolillo; Yesterday, 03:06 PM.

Will Brown would be a sensible hire by Siena. Was surprised that UAlbany let him go; sounded like a situation where everyone needed a change. That said, I think the landscape for the basketball mid-majors has been irrevocably changed by NIL. The dollars are different for that sport and more upside...

Like in 2017, I don't think I'm qualified to call for a hockey coach to lose their job (or keep it for that matter), but I also think that the school has the right to make changes if they don't like the direction of the program. I have sympathy for Dave Smith, as I did for Seth, but I would understand...

While the athletic director may own the decision in the public's eye, I don't think that the athletic director has unilateral control over the decision at a place like RPI--the President will have to sign off.
RPI is back to where it was at the end of '16-'17 in terms of the feel of where...

RPI played hard this weekend and didn't give up, but were ultimately outclassed. RPI did most of the same things that messed up otherwise decent performances during the season. Each of the team's weaknesses made an appearance this weekend and contributed to the sweep (poor special teams play, faceoff...

I agree. I was at Lynah last night. RPI wasn't terrible, but really didn't trouble Cornell other than a few exchanges. A rather boring game from an RPI perspective. Just feels like the team has been out of gas for a few weeks after not being able to click at all this year. Injuries were part of the...
