Luckily, no more fifth years after next season. That will significantly reduce the number of transfers....

I view "rebuilding" to mean sacrificing current success in favor of developing younger players. Quinnipiac does (and will continue to do) the opposite. Quinnipiac will (by my count, at least) have at least four fifth-year players next season, including two incoming transfers, and at least...

Quinnipiac is not going to be rebuilding next season. If it weren’t for fifth years and transfers it would have no choice but to play and develop its underclassmen. But in the world of the transfer portal and COVID eligibility, Quinnipiac is never forced to rely on underclassmen and incoming recruits...

I complain about the Ivy ban on grad students all the time (and so does Mike Schafer, for the record). My issue with QU is more that they take a lot of transfers and get their seniors to come back for a fifth year at the expense of their pipeline of recruits, who end up getting no playing time and then...

Transfer portal giveth, transfer portal taketh away. I think Quinnipiac would have much better underclassmen right now if it didn't fill roster spots with transfers and fifth years rather than affording that playing time to its recruits. But on the other hand, I'm sure Quinnipiac will plug most of its...

I think that praising Rand’s coaching and working with him at a charity function is very weak empirical evidence of them being friends. By that logic, Schafer is probably friends with half the coaches in D-1 hockey. Schafer IS actually friendly with Don Vaughan/Ted Donato, BTW—I have never...

You realize DU had an entire day off after the 2OT game, right? Cornell outshot Denver 25-18 and had multiple incredible chances in the final minutes to tie it....

To follow up on the previous conversation, I thought Cornell played a great defensive game last night. The 5-minute major was a dumb mistake by an overeager freshman and Cornell got the 5-minute penalty it deserved. Other than that, I hope it was clear that Cornell is not a dirty team, despite what...

Damn, what a rude fanbase. Is it due to lack of recent success, or something else…?...

When Cornell plays hyper talented teams like BU, obviously they’re going to try to slow the game down. Playing firewagon hockey with BU is a recipe for disaster. Cornell taking away the middle of the ice, disrupting BU in the neutral zone, and staying back on defense is just good strategy. Clearly,...

I honestly have nothing against the University of Maine. Maine is a beautiful state, particularly the part where the university is located. I also like the black bear mascot. I certainly prefer Maine to most of the other Hockey East schools. It's just weird to see a bunch of people on a forum trashing...

Cornell hockey has an entire forum: Elf.ELynah.com.
This was not quite the own you thought it was....

First, they're dirty. Next, they bend the rules. Then, they're boring to watch. The funny thing is that from reading all these posts, it's clear nobody in this thread has seen Cornell play in the last decade (except for the one Colgate fan, who hates us). It's strange to see all the posters here immediately...

LOL! So a Cornell player intentionally "put his skate" into a player on the ice, the foreseeable consequence of which is to cause a grave injury? I can assure you neither the Cornell coaching staff nor players would ever stand for doing something like that. We get it, you hate Cornell. You...Last edited by CornellFan13; 03-24-2024, 09:17 PM.

This post is an all-time act of mental gymnastics. So let me get this straight, the refs are biased in favor of schools from a particular *state*? And that state happens to be New York? Ergo, Cornell commits offenses that should be penalties, but aren't called? Well, that's interesting, because many...

Repeating the same BS over and over doesn't make it correct. Cornell was one of the least penalized teams in the nation this year. Their 9.0 penalty minutes per game has them tied for 14th lowest in the country. So either the refs are blind or you have no idea what you're talking about....
