Thank you for being reasonable about it! When you use phrasing like he did it just sets you up to be mocked after the fact--he has to own that and deserves the jokes that have come his way. In the end no DU players even knew about it until after the game. He was confident and thought his team would...

The DU players didn't even know this happened. Fact. There was no bulletin board material element. And it was the freakin' national title game anyway. There is no bulletin board material when you are in the final game of the season....

Hell no. Beyond that I didn't like thought of having to beat BU 4 of 5. I would always prefer the "other" option....

Through 2 periods, yes. PPs weren't the reason BC outshot Denver 23-5 in 3rd period. No coach wants to give up 23 shots in a period. In the end BC got goalied. Puck simply would not go in last night. Posts, other glorious chances even in first two periods. Smith had a breakaway in first, Gasseau hit...

I certainly wouldn't advise a player to use the phrasing Gauthier did but he was essentially just saying he thought his team would win. I would expect every player on each team to feel the same way. Not like you could add more motivation...it's the national title game.

I really don't have anything to complain about. Denver won the title in 2022 and is an experienced, proven team with a great coach (even beat BC early in season). They reinvented their game as the season progressed and became a defensive juggernaut with a hot goalie. Even then you need some puck luck...

Awards or not I remember thinking last year and maybe even early this season that I wish Gauthier was a little more well rounded. Well, he blossomed in a BIG way. He is the complete package out there now. That has to be gratifying for Greg Brown and the coaches.
Lots of respect for David...

I will again suggest that they not do the voting before the FF. It doesn't make any sense at all to not have the biggest games of all factored into voting. I agree though, should have been Gauthier. But I also just saw Fowler didn't win the Richter and I'll take him over Kyle McClellan anyday. On to...

Well, Bucci already spilled the beans during the BC game that Celebrini won it....

I had a feeling he was gonna come back for one more year. I will not miss seeing him out there!

On the OT goal, Lachance made a nice play to find Kaplan. Might have been in his skates a bit but man you gotta do better corralling the puck there. He just completely lost the plot and kicks the puck on to a Denver stick to start the winning rush. Caron's also gotta have that one.

That play didn't look like anything really. The Peterson hit was an obvious major and Celebrini cross checked a guy into an injury. BUT obviously Denver not getting a single penalty was absurd. I thought they probably should have called a hook on Denver in OT when Hutson was dangling near the net. There...Last edited by J.D.; 04-12-2024, 10:30 AM.

This is my biggest problem with Buccigross. He's more interested in telling you when each star player will be moving on to the NHL. Just let it breathe man. They are playing for their schools at the moment....

Please tell me I am not the only one who heard cement head Buccigross basically tell everyone that Celebrini won the Hobey? Extend the voting period. Cutter Gauthier deserves the award. Period. Put in the work defensively to help neutralize Michigan's big line, picks the pocket of McGroarty and essentially...

OK so Ivy League rules need to be reevaluated and not Cornell specifically. But my point is I thought you were railing on QU for having 5th year guys and all this when what is the harm in Cornell keeping Jack Malone for another year....

This is a two player race and really it's a shame that the voting is already concluded. If you are gonna allow for voters to wait until after regionals why wouldn't you also count the FF games as part of the voting process....

You know who might have helped Cornell beat Denver and get back to a FF for the first time in 20 years? Jack Malone. A kid who was awarded an 'A' on his new team and who plays a complete game and does all the right things out there on the ice. Maybe it's Cornell who should reevaluate....

I believe I saw on Twitter that Seamus Casey should be back for Michigan as well. They might have entered the tournament at #10 overall but they are loaded. Down the stretch they won a couple games at Minnesota, lost in OT at MSU in Big Ten title game and then of course just beat UND and MSU. With that...
