Jeez, buying these ahead of time would have been a good speculative investment with great returns....

Yup, he juggled lines a bit the past few games in the middle of the game with 5-on-5 action and quite frankly it seems to have helped when he does it. But good point, may have been to help defensively with the last change and likely getting matchups defensively he wanted. You may continue to see this...

Carvel turned into a bozo real fast. Speaking of bozos, not sure if anyone picked up on it during the selection show but Colby Cohen went out of his way to point out that UMass felt they were screwed by the officials specifically in the BC series....

Not sure what to think about the bracket we're in.
Wisconsin - I find the B1G brand of hockey to be interestingly strange and it remains a skill game with hybrid players as it has been with those teams for quite some time. That being said, you better think twice about a Hastings coached...Last edited by Nick Papagiorgio; 03-25-2024, 08:56 AM.

Fun Fact: Over the past 10 seasons (during a slight BC downswing and considerable Umass upswing), Umass is 4-21 in their last 25 games vs BC....

That's a bummer. Guy was a legend. Glad I got to meet him once and he gave me his "card."...

Congrats to Coach Brown on winning HE COTY. A no-brainer considering BC was below .500 last year and he had a historically good season....

We should bring back GeneD and kick them out of HockeyEast and help UMass Boston go D1 as a replacement.

It's a national tournament and I think they want to see interesting national matchups outside of the normal conference slate. I still think it's best to avoid them when possible but allow them where they screw teams badly or create absolute chaos like we could see this year.
These are...

Pretty much every team is playing BC the same way, either neutral zone trap or extreme forecheck (BU in particular). There are ways around this but it's still a tough nut to crack. For the most part it's feast or famine, if you're not good at it you're looking at many odd-man rushes. No matter what...

With Merrimack locked into either the 11th or 12th spot in Hockey East (unfortunately Lowell has the tiebreaker on Merrimack so there's no way to know until the Saturday games start to be played), and no idea of how possible matchups will shake out ahead of them, do they really have anything to play...

INJURY AVOIDANCE.
The chances of BC not getting the top seed is basically 0% at this point. There are only so many games left to be played and the RPI gap is just too large (more than .0200) to get through for a multitude of reasons (lack of road games in the playoffs for all 3 teams to...

Fun Fact for the Day:
In the 9 seasons since 1997-1998 that BC has had a 30-goal scorer, they have gone to the Frozen Four 8 times, producing 6 title game appearances and 3 titles. The one outlier was 2010-2011 with perhaps BC's most stacked team dropping the recently mentioned stunner to Colorado...

Sounds like Perreault is still out. Going to be a tough one without him on the road.
No word on Powell....

I'll have no commentary on this matter until mid-April. He seems to be a great coach though and it's good he's a coach and not our goalie.
*I would like to point out that BC really seemed like they had everything in place to get Mike a ring when everything got shut down for the Wu...
