Wilmer - the writing was on the wall over the last three games. I think the comments about him needing to a be a top 6 guy and isn't are spot on. He was a rare USNTDP guy that played an additional year before starting his college career.
Gallagher - agree with Bomber - he regressed. Not...

I'm not sure where you are seeing it, but that has to be an error. I mean he may have slipped on the draft boards over the course of the season, but he is still the second best goal scorer ever to come out of the USNTDP. It would be big news if his plans had changed for the fall....

Gauthier would have been a good choice, too. If I had to guess, I think the voters saw the significant difference in supporting cast between Celebrini and the 4 BC forwards. Celebrini had 28 points more than the next highest forward at BU. All 4 BC guys are at 60 points or more. Also, Celebrini followed...

What a treat to be able to watch this kid. I made it a point to go to more games this year, knowing we had something special. I was pleased to read his dad's comments in the Athletic today that would seem to indicate that he feels Macklin needs another year in college (and his dad would know a thing...

So many thoughts...
- Tough loss last night. I felt good with the lead, but the team fell back into their tough second periods that they had corrected over the last few weeks.
- Why couldn't we have the refs from the Beanpot championship who clearly realized they had not given NU a power...

No easy games left. Denver won it all two years ago and has 30 wins, along with one of the best young coaches in the game. Once again, having last change could be big, especially if Massimo Rizzo is back. And has already been noted, special teams play and goaltending will likely determine this one....

Except that Gauthier didn't want to come back, no? At least that is what I read after the whole trade fiasco. The best case for staying a second year these days is Cale Makar, IMHO.
My thought is that Gauthier is going to win it (goals matter and he has the most), but Chris Peters said...

Thanks for the "chalk" explanations.
I'm a little disappointed that nobody commented on my title for this thread. Supposed to sound sort of like "Jack and Coke" (though i am more of a Bacardi and Coke guy myself), and of course we have a lot of Jacks and will have 2...

After never hearing the "chalk" phrase in my life I feel like I have heard it 10 times on the past two weeks. I think I get what it means but I don't understand why. Anyone care to enlighten an old guy?...

It used to be the same weekend. Hockey was Thurs/Sat, Basketball was Sat/Mon. I always remember Tom Mees during the BU-NMU 3 OT thriller in 1991 announcing the incredible news that Duke had knocked off undefeated UNLV in the semifinals.
I like the separation, though it is tough to wait....

Congrats on the gut-check win. QU really didn't get their trap going well until the third period, but your boys found a way to battle through it. I felt the two teams that could beat BC were QU and Cornell. Now both are out. I'm just glad we don't have to face you until a possible title game match ...

I am pretty sure that Quinn was trying to send the puck into the high crease and it deflected off the defenseman's stick and came in on Close instead. He wasn't able to adjust his position and his pad knocked it in. I thought Lane's goal was worse on the part of the goalie, but there were a lot of sticks...

Everything I have seen would indicate that Cole Hutson is coming this fall. Having his brother put up 48 points as a freshman defenseman playing a very similar style I'm sure gives the coaches plenty of comfort that Cole is ready for D-1....

Thanks. Glad you paid attention to Macklin's full game. It is why he is going to be the #1 pick. Yeah, he's great in the offensive zone, but he is also very strong in his own end and just keeps battling. It's why he is compared to Toews so much. He reminds me of Chris Drury, doesn't let his offensive...

Leonard was immense from what I saw - the guy just plays a very complete game. Starting to think he is the most NHL ready of the trio. Hopefully the Capitals agree :-)

Hah! We can all dream. No doubt he would get traded in that scenario, like Gauthier. Lots of articles recently about whether he comes back for a second year. I think it's 50/50, and likely will depend on who drafts him. He is SO young, younger than Eichel was - those 8 months make a difference....

- I think coach sat Wilmer due to inefffective play, vs wanting to shuffle lines. He had a terrible turnover early and took a penalty.
- I am guessing Webber is hurting and so they are picking key spots to deploy him.
- I agree that defense is the team's weakness. Gallagher had at least...
