I also agree that BC started slowly, both nights. The difference being that they made their chances against Michigan count and they didn’t finish against Denver. They could have been up 2-0 after the first period against DU. Both Leonard and Guftason could have scored in the 3rd period.

Looking at Denver’s last 3 games they have only been penalized 3 times including zero against BU. They make you earn your goals 5 x 5. They have not done well on face offs and they have been outshot by a decent margin. They trap the neutral zone and look for their opportunities. That’s also...Leave a comment:

I think the week off will really benefit BC. Michigan is a very experienced team making their 3rd straight Frozen 4. The extra time to prepare and get this young team to refocus on their defensive zone play is crucial to a successful weekend.

BC could have been up 2-0 after the first period. A bad penalty by Smith and a blind behind the back clearing pass by #5 and it was 2-0 QU. From that point on BC outscored QU 5-2. The refs decided to let the holding, hooking and cross checking go uncalled. It took BC awhile to adjust and fight through it. I thought BC did an excellent job back checking and Fowler was terrific. The 3rd period was a turning point for this team. All year long they have had trouble holding leads. They won almost all of those games, except at PC, but the 3rd period last night was their best performance with a lead all year long. They have not been good at holding leads all year long including the last game at home against UConn. You have to give them credit for getting the GWG and moving onto the semifinal without Perrault in the lineup. That’s 50 points we lost without him being in the lineup.
