I didn't realize how aggressive they'd pursued the online classes, until back in 2012, I was out in Bremerton, WA for work. Sitting on the coach one weekend and on comes a SNHU commercial....

I believe there are also constraints coming from the university. Ever since Charlebois was academically ineligible, and a few of the women a couple years prior, it seems that the program gets no leeway for recruiting. I'm not talking just the Keith Yandle situations. There was the notorious Gaudreau...

Thanks. I go way back on these boards but have found that I've lost the ability to waste as much time as I used to, so the reality is that I'm likely to get distracted and disappear again. The last month or so, however, has really bothered me. The university's apparent disinterest in hockey is bad enough,...

I also think the Patriots generation started the decline. By that, I mean, the kids who grew up never knowing the Patriots to be bad. They were football centric sports fans and less inclined to become die-hard hockey fans when they got to Durham. Add in university meddling and the events of the last...

I've not been able to go to many games since my son was born, but made a few women's games this year. Surprisingly there's a bigger student presence than I can ever recall. Sadly, they don't do all that much....

I can personally assure you it wasn't.
When the Litterbox turned over cowbell duties to current students at that time, there was a meeting between those students and some alumni/fans, and then later with the Pep Band, about trying to increase the atmosphere at games. The fan base was getting...

Not sure what you mean by "manufactured," but that particular chant was not something that the university originated or pushed. You may not like it, but it actually did arise from students and fans....

I highly doubt it. Witt has just two winning seasons in 10 years, and they were still below .500 until the middle of Feb this year. They seem happy to let her muddle along.
It seems that ever since Charlebois was academically ineligible, UNH had acted as if being competitive and graduating...Last edited by freak; 03-26-2024, 04:16 PM.

Witt has 4 winning seasons in 18 years between Yale and UNH, and even this year was misleading. They were still sub .500 all the way until the middle of February, before that run at the end of the season.
Even then, finishing 3rd was as much about what other teams did (or didn't) do....
