2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

Maybe he should not have told her to stay away from his campaign? Infighting seems like a bad idea when you already need to attract some of those moderate/swing voters.
She was looking to relitigate the primary by making him "apologize" for an ad he didn't fund, commission, or approve in exchange for her continued support. Presumably because her AIPAC donor fiance was butthurt about it.

Win or lose, screw her for that. She's done as a public official in this state and good riddance.

I am shocked by Schumer, for once in a good way.

It shows the polling must be horrible when you compare the DSA and Centrist wings.
Nah, it's just the politically expedient thing for Schumer to do with two days to go before Election Day.

Haley made this about her so she could have another 15 minutes. In two days, she'll be irrelevant again.

Probably both have some fault.
How it the party at fault? She's the one who made the choice to make things a big deal at the last moment. And I don't see how making her "feel good" at this point adds anything.

If anything, her moves will take a considerable amount of her voters and have them vote for Al Sayed, now that they see her truth.

Saw a reasonable analysis that Stevens is much like Aaron Burr- just looking out for themselves. Again, I'm glad we know she drifts with the breeze so easily.

Also, some hope that this will solidify the race.
Could be. I think a more apt comparison that would better resonate with voters today is Riley Gaines.

Not talking about the party. Both meaning El Sayed and Stevens. They obviously have some sort of fued going on… and usually there is some fault from both sides.

Maybe, but Al Sayed won. And if she isn’t being invited, well…. I don’t expect him to pick up anything she supports and he doesn’t. So she shouldn’t either.

Either way, the odds of her alienating her voters is greater than her stealing voters.

Edit- it very much seems that this is mostly about aipac. Who also seem to be part of the group running racist and fear mongering ads against Al Sayed. And since aipac supported Stevens, and still does… I can understand why he doesn’t want her around.

Stevens flips completely and is now campaigning with Rogers this morning.

That’s...a choice I guess.

"Blue no matter who
Unless it's someone I don't like
Then EWWWW."

If you made this up on your own, it's so awful it's wonderful. Well done.

Even if true, what has El-Sayed done, in your opinion, that would make Stevens not, you know, just refuse to endorse him or tell her supporters "vote your conscience" or some crap, and instead endorse the other guy? Since you're the only one coming at it from this angle, I can't say I recall too many times where this happened.

We can hope this is true. I'm a Democrat first and the candidate 2nd, so if any Democrat told me to endorse a Republican in this political environment, I mean...what do you stand for, lol? "El-Sayed was mean to me, so I'm standing with the guy who has supported everything I've never valued or voted for in my life!" is really, again, a choice.

Racists gonna racist. There are Michigan voters on record as saying they refuse to vote for El-Sayed because "of his middle name," or "that disavowing of the Muslim Brotherhood wasn't convincing," or "he needs to go back home."

Meanwhile Rogers never uttered his middle name (Joseph), never once had to disavow the KKK or Proud Boys, and still has a snowbird property in Florida and a yacht registed in Maryland because Michigan is a pit stop for him.

Haley Stevens hitching her wagon to Rogers is a *choice*.
