RPI 2026 Off-Season: Please Pardon Our Appearance As We Upgrade This Area

Today is 27 June 2026. There are 98 days (14 weeks) until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 3 October 2026 for the start of next season.

Maybe it is not fixed. Army apparently has a conflict on 10/4.
RPI's schedule lists RPI at home versus Army on 10/3 for an exhibition. Union's schedule lists Union away at Army on 10/3 for a non-exhibition game (the day after a home exhibition vs. Colgate). I couldn't find whether Army released its schedule

And the Union Cup Game to make 12 non conference games.

As for the building renovations. Had an eye appointment last week at the medical building just down the hill from the Fieldhouse. When done took a walk around the place and found the back doors wide open and got a good look inside. Seems to be going very well and a contractor guy standing outside taking a break flat out told me they expect to be done and gone by around Labor Day.

However, so much for the previously mentioned top of the building concourse at least for the time being. Nothing has been touched up there and the same guy said he knew of nothing that was going to happen up there during this project. As far as he knew once the rink itself is done all they are doing is replacing the bottom concourse they ripped out to work on the rink. It appears that entry and exit will remain as it was at least for now.
And you didn't take pictures?

Just caught this - an exhibition against Army and then two non-conference games against Army, that's a lot.

I don't think they ever planned to do that phase now, did they? I seem to remember first priority was to address the ice this summer, but everything for the future - the upper concourse, extensions with new team areas, filling in the east end with seats, etc. - was all dependent upon fundraising and definitely was for the future, right?

A little surprised Evanchessen didn’t go in the 6/7 round?
We don't get to list a drafting team's logo on our line chart, but Evaschesen is better off not getting drafted versus being picked in the late rounds. If he produces in a big way in Troy he can be a free agent with multiple offers.

One other interesting schedule tidbit: Ohio State makes two trips to the Capital District in the fall. At RPI the weekend of October 9, and at Union the weekend after Thanksgiving

Correct. The concourse was a different phase. If and when funds are gathered and the will remains... ha .

Good report Tony. Interesting info, as I had heard from a reliable source that the project was a bit behind schedule... In any event, time will tell! At least there is finally reliable ice in Lansingburgh, should the squad need a sheet to skate on in the early going.

Also, Ethan McCallum will be at Toronto's camp.

It's good to hear that the Leafs see professional potential. I've been wondering what we have with him. He's put up some good WHL stats, but it appears he's never really been a #1 goaltender. I'm guessing he'll start off as the best #2 we've had in a while and could become a rotational goaltender with Krawchuk. Just improving our depth in net could buy us a few more wins per year.
