Business, Economics, and Taxes 2: That's Why We Fight to Take the Means Back

Musk does know the Chicoms frown upon people who use anything stronger than cigarettes and whiskey, right?

Of course, with his wealth, it may not matter.

The rules do not apply to the rulers. The CCP is the perfection of capitalist dominion. They out-drug our druggies, out-gamble our gamblers, and out-pedo our pedos.

And Eric.
His father wouldn't let him board, so he's riding Air Force One

Back in 2005, MTU made every incoming freshman read a novel called Feed by M.T. Anderson. It basically envisioned a dystopian future in which everyone's brain was constantly hardwired into a social media-like stream via an implant. It enabled vast information searching and sharing capability and even a form of telepathy with other users, but also constantly fed everyone intrusive advertising and pro-corporate messaging. Additionally, everything from the clouds to the schools was privately owned and trademarked, while the natural environment deteriorates.

He wrote and published this novel in 2002.

That said, I can't help but notice that with each incremental 'improvement' to our available tech accessories, coupled now with GenAI search and recognition capabilities, the building blocks for "The Feed" are becoming reality. Which begs the question - how far away from an implant are we? Who will be dumb enough to get one? How much will it cost? And most importantly for Americans, will it have a multi-year payback contract?

In a move that will surely help lower the price of gasoline and diesel for the average American [/sarcasm], Trump has twisted Xi's arm in purchasing American produced oil.

He's already said he doesn't think about Americans at all, and certainly not our financial problems.

Yet somehow his cult followers still worship him.

The Tiffany Network continues its decline at its own hands. Every thing Trump touches turns to shit

Based on Cheeto's ramblings, it sounds like Xi may have called the US a "declining country" to his face. So that's great that China now knows they officially hold all the cards moving forward...

Knowing what we know about the Chinese (and the EU), with full awareness that they have all the leverage will they be happy with their gains or press for even more...

This is a rhetorical....

Mayor Mamdani continues to be a nightmare for VBNMW "moderate" Democrats. He has managed to close a $12 billion hole in the NYC budget in just five months in office, and he did it without slashing programs for the poor and working class. He actually increased many of them. If more people see his successes they might wonder why the Democrats running their cities can't do the same, and if the "electability" argument used against Democratic Socialists is really valid...

Didn't raise much revenue to pay for it, though. So could just be creating a bigger mess later on, because I don't see any substantial tax increases getting approved.

Oh please. I want Mamdani to succeed, but I'm also realistic. There is only so much he can do without support, and his available options aren't necessarily without longer-term consequences. The guy isn't a god.

But by all means, attack away and call me a BSABSVR conservadem.

The caveat I've seen is that the funding gap closure was assisted by State funding to make the difference up. But I don't want to disparage what he has done. He definetly has made improvements the lower and middle class has seen immediate results from.

I absolutely had a good laugh at CNBC this morning where they interviewed someone who wants Mamdani to personally call Gov. Desantis and discuss how to work together to keep from billionaires leaving NYC. When pushed, said talking head said that billionaires from such famous NYC boroughs such as the Hamptons, Fairfield County, etc. are fleeing NYC for South Florida because they're being taxed out of NYC.

And then in the next breath says that the imports to South Florida are now pricing out locals in FLA who they have to move to Georgia and Tennessee.
