UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I dont understand how you can mess that up and how it even got posted really don't you think there would be maybe a couple checks and balances in place
Checks and balances? This is the University of Maine we're talking about. At least we've come a long way from when the "office" was a janitor's closet with the word custodian still stenciled on the door, a computer that didn't work and a "department" that consisted of one full-time employee and one work-study student.

I was thinking maybe the NCAA but that's probably too much to ask too lol

Neutral Zone had Maine's 2025 class ranked fifth sandwiched between Michigan and Boston College, so anyone trying to say it wasn't a strong class is just being revisionist.
Yup.

And, again, if those bad losses to UHN and UVM had been wins, Maine would've been dancing this year, and this thread would've had a better tone, or at least a different thing to complain about.

(As in, griping about being sited in Sioux Falls. ;) )

Maine probably would been sent Worcester for attendance

I have often wondered why Fortier left. Was he asked to leave or did he leave on his own? I never saw any explanation or rumors about his departure. Water long over the dam at this point. Personality issues, poor performance or Fortier wanted a change?

Couple days old maybe some have seen it, pretty in depth on where schools are heading with paying players.
Maine mentioned as doing ok relatively, not top tier.

My wishful thinking is that the Denver series that's now over can be replaced with another NCHC team (UND, perhaps?) and the Lindenwood series replaced with a B1G team, but I have more of a feeling they will just continue to schedule mostly ECAC and AHA teams. Maybe mix in an independent like LIU for some variety. Hope I'm wrong.

I would think now that Alfond renovations are complete that they could get some Big Ten teams on future schedules.
I won't hold my breath for a few of those schools, but for anyone curious the last time any of the Big Ten teams have played in Orono:

Notre Dame (2017), Michigan State (2009), Ohio State (2000), Minnesota (1999), Wisconsin (1990).

Penn State and Michigan have never played at Alfond. Strangely enough all 7 matchups with Michigan have been neutral sites.
