2026 Frozen Four

The live stats that I'm seeing are showing the 4th tOSU goal as at the 20:00 minute mark. I don't think that's possible. I'm guessing that the boxscore software, or the operator, doesn't know how to handle this. But there has to be time on the clock for the goal to count, even if it is just a tenth of a second. There was a faceoff afterward, so there must have been time. I don't think this is a case where the time is rounded to the point that it looks like the clock had run out. Penalties can happen at or after the horn, but not goals. Of course, I can always be wrong!

Anyway, Northeastern has realized that they aren't playing the Gophers anymore, 4-0 for the Muzzies.

The clock on "TV" said 0.6 when they dropped the puck for the faceoff.

With no pregame offense to Penn State, I just don't think they stand any chance against Wisco.

The WCHA should be D-I.
The rest of D-I should be D-II except for the NEWHA which is an insult to D-I hockey.
The NEWHA should be split into D-II and D-III (someone else can do the splitting but maybe the bottom 3 teams should be D-III).
D-III should be split into D-III and D-IV (again, someone else can do the splitting because I don't know where to begin).

Would the NCAA sponsor 4 National Championships?

Todd Milweski of the WI State Journal has a twitter post up, a photo showing people sitting on both sides of the ice.

(But I'm pretty sure HockeyBuckeye managed to find a seat, even with it being general admission. LOL)

Both sides. Great crowd for the second game. Probably 90% full. A packed and raucous student section. Fantastic atmosphere.

So, who was the moron poster who said no one would show up for this even with the home team in it…?

Awful play by Gorbenko to throw a missile back toward her own goal. Also pretty awful team offense with Wisconsin having four players deep protecting a one goal lead with five minutes left in the third.

Many are hyper-focused on being negative about the NEWHA but not the fact literally everyone gets the hell beat out of them by Ohio State and Wisconsin every single season.

Penn State is proving they have what it takes, but they just lost in OT.

I saw it posted somewhere. Everyone but OSU and WI are just playing for the tee shirt. Including the NEWHA schools.

Yes and especially since the conversation was around disabled people. It’s stressful for people with poor mobility to do deal with things like general admission. Hope the organizers learn from this!

The sport is too top heavy. There’s just not enough elite talent to distribute to other schools to allow them to challenge Wisconsin and Ohio State. I don’t know what the solution is, though.
