BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Yeah 6:30 is rough on a weeknight. I'm sure there is no coordination between Hockey East and the Patriot league as far as which nights the games are, but it would seem as if the game could be at 7:00.
Could it be a “school night thing”? Maybe feedback that 7pm starts mid-week make it tough to take kids to the game…???

Not sure if it's TV thing as well. Though out of the three games, the BU-UVM game is the only one not on NESN (or NESN+). They have staggered starts so people can watch more games. Meaning the first period of the BU-UVM game will be be ending as the other two start. But whatever.

So, is this correct?
- the three teams that lose on Wednesday - seasons are over
- whoever loses Friday night - BC and Maine - season is over
- if any of the lower seeded teams that win on Wednesday lose on Saturday - seasons are over

As noted we are in the "take their sticks away" season. In the HE post season the losers in the first four games get their sticks put away. NESN dictates game time starts.

BC is out of NCAAs if they lose on Friday?

I thought earlier start just to make it easier for Vermont to go back to Burlington after game
I don't 30 minutes will make any difference for UVM getting out of Boston. I'm wondering if they win, would they go directly to Providence? That's a long ride back tonight and a long ride to Providence on Friday. If they win.

As for NESN - they are televising both the other games so they may actually have something to do with it. But I'm sure it's the league making the decision.

I don't see television having any impact in the game time. 30 minutes doesn't make any difference there. Basically, no good reason that we know of. Just a poor decision that likely lowers ticket sales to some extent. In my humble opinion.

Why does it lower ticket sales? I was going regardless of start time but I like the earlier start on a weekday. Same with Red Sox early starts in April.

We see why on Friday nights. The arena is half empty at game time and starts filling near the end of the first period. If someone has trouble getting there by 7pm, why would they buy a ticket for a non-exciting opponent just to miss a more significant portion of the game? I can't put a number on what effect it has, but I feel strongly that it does have an effect.

I'll say this, for myself and someone who sits behind me... we very likely weren't going anyway, but the 6:30pm start time sealed the decision.

That's probably fair but many people will be late regardless of the start time. I was a season ticket holder for a long time at both venues, and some people just always underestimate the time it takes to get from your house to your seat. Some are in my family. :)

Try commuting in to a game after work from the north shore and you will understand (and I assume from west and south shore but I’ve not had that experience.)

Like tmtroiano described… I don’t think I was going anyway, but the 630 definitely confirmed the decision

I would also think for anyone who lives in or very close to the city the 630 or seven doesn’t make any difference
