Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

ARM commented somewhere that he thought Ava would have possibly stopped the 2nd and 3rd MN goals.
Not exactly. I was more asking the question of the fanbase that knows your #1 goalie better. IMO, the latter has already allowed more goals versus UM in her career that I was surprised lit the lamp than most of her predecessors. Given she made the Olympic roster, I'll admit that I must be underestimating her and basing too much off of a small sample size.

Seems like Shappy came back okay from getting knocked around in the OT period vs SUI. Looks like she's getting some good experience. Hope she and her UW teammates all return healthy from Italy.

Hockey palooza today. Usa versus Finland this morning, Badger ladies this afternoon, Badger men tonight.

Let's go RED!

Refs let this game get out of hand by not calling penalties on OSU early for checking etc and now both sides are starting to take libertiess. Not really what anyone should want in women's hockey.

At least UW looks better in the 2nd period.

I was going to look up if MacLeod had ever had a 30-shot shutout. She's good, and she's probably had shutouts before, but probably not when facing 30 shots.

That might have been the worst I've seen them play in a long, long time. Both teams were without 5 Olympians, but OSU took it to the Badgers. Credit to OSU. Badgers seemed a step slow all game and appeared tentative. The puck possession totals had to be very one-sided in favor of OSU.

Seemed like OSU had at least twice as many quality shots as the Badgers. Oh well, on to tomorrow. I expect the Badgers to come out with some fire tomorrow.

Penalty fest that period. UW needs to take the puck to the net.
I thought for for awhile it was anything goes in the first. I saw a number of penalties that could have been called against both team but nothing so I was surprised when the arms finally went up but I guess the refs felt they needed to take control of it.

The opponent's first period yesterday was a thing of beauty. Feet moving constantly, winning loose puck races and allowing no time and space. Hard passes tape to tape seemingly every time. It looked like 7 on 5. It's like they were jacked up on a stimulant or something LOL. I don't know if UW as constructed has that in them.

With women's basketball playing simultaneously with women's hockey, I wonder how the parking situation would shake out. I do have a pass for 91 and we get there plenty early to get a spot, but that will fill to capacity way before 2:00. Some people are going to be PO'd.

I got an email about it early in the week, that I paid no attention to. But it was still in my "trash" folder. FWIW:

You are receiving this communication as records indicate you have tickets but no parking permit for the women’s hockey game on Sunday, February 8, 2026 versus Ohio State at 2 p.m. at the Kohl Center. Please share this communication with all members of your party.

Wisconsin Athletics partners with UW Transportation Services (UWTS) on parking for home Athletic events. On Sunday, women’s basketball will host Washington at 2 p.m. at Kohl Center. Since women’s basketball and women’s hockey patrons park in the same lots surrounding the Kohl Center and La Bahn Arena, you may see additional congestion in the surrounding area depending on your arrival time. Please plan accordingly.

Lots available for day-of-game purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 10 a.m. for $5 include:
  • Lot 46 (Lake & Johnson Ramp; 301 N. Lake Street)
  • Lot 48 (ADA Parking Only; Ogg Hall; 120 E. Campus Mall)
  • Lot 78 (ADA Parking Only; West of La Bahn Arena; 110 E. Campus Mall)
For day-of-game sales, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted for payment. All other surrounding parking lots are sold out to women’s hockey and women’s basketball season permit holders. A parking map is attached for your reference.

If you have any questions, please reply to this email (tickets@uwbadgers.com) so that a representative may assist you.
