Anyone else sick and tired of the immigration issue caused by one side being unable to compromise? I guarantee Democrats would make a deal on it.

She was good as the White House remote person and such...never watched that attempt at a morning show.

I get people need jobs and you take what you can get but being on TV saying that stuff, allowing that to exist as a video resume forever is just awful.

Good. Only way they learn is to get a lot of pushback and a bad rep. I honestly don't know who even watches CNN anymore. They're the lowest quality garbage. MSNBC and Fox parrot back their viewers' opinions so they hold their audience by giving them a happy ending, but what does CNN do? It isn't news. It's generic, empty sludge, like screens in corporate lobbies which run their PR videos on continuous loop.

I suspect 90% of their viewership is the factory setting for TVs at airport gates.

Cable TV is simply there for boomers at this point. I would bet most people get their news off social media by now.

I quit seeking them (or MSNBC) when the talking heads espousing opinion took over the news blocks. Same with CNN2 or CNN Headline News or HLN or whatever they kept rebranding as.

I don't want Wolf Blitzer asking three people for opinions. I want Wolf Blitzer standing in a doorway with a military helmet telling me what's actually happening.

Maybe I'm remembering a romanticized version of the past, but I want Ted Turner's Gulf War CNN. Not whatever the hell it's become since the turn of the Millenia / Time Warner purchase.

Unfortunately, I also realize that a news desk repeating the same factual information at the top and bottom of the hour isn't profitable. Advertisers aren't knocking doors down to pay for the kind of viewership numbers that ESPN gets from pets who accidentally step on the power button of a remote midday. Shock, contention, and poutrage draw viewers and sell advertisements.

When I was at WMU in the late 90s I would always say if you wanted to see it then watch CNN, if you wanted it explained watch the BBC.

Yeah I've said for years that the worst thing to happen to "the news" was when Rupert Murdoch figured out you could make obscene money by shifting to opinion-first/news-second.

I'd believe CNN is owned by Plutes who want to steal more trillions from us so they throw elections to the GOP. But I don't believe even the most hard-bitten and cynical Plutes want Dump in power. It's too destabilizing. The US under Dump is Russia under Putin: even for the wealthiest, erratic and ultimately doomed.

Dump's nomination, election, and full term without assassination ended the possibility (hope?) of there being a Great Conspiracy. "God's a kid with an ant farm, lady. He aint planning anything."

On the other hand, all GOP roads lead through trump. Everyone on earth who makes these decisions understands that. Worse yet, there doesn't appear to be a post-Trump exit plan. Every single one of the candidates in waiting are just as evil with a hair of refinement. That refinement isn't enough (in my opinion) to make women vote for giving up their bodily autonomy. Minorities aren't going to vote for DeSantis because he doesn't grab em by the pussy. So why pump him up?

As for the Great Conspiracy, yeah, that was forever put to bed. However, I think as we uncover more, The Micro-Scale Conspiracies look more and more realistic. You've got rent-a-robe that buys you access to actual opinions on the Supreme Court. You've got billionaires that buy media empires and give 4channers all-access tickets to everyone's feed. You've got other billionaires buying other platforms like CNN and the NYT and turning them into reputation laundering services.

It's obvious there's no annual Spectre Convention but there are a lot of really shitty people with a lot of power pulling on a lot of strings. I think I can forgive us all for thinking there was a grand conspiracy when there were hundreds all happening at the same time all around us.

If DeSanctimonious had any sense of charisma, he'd wipe the floor with Donny. He gambled on delivering MAGA results, betting on substance over style, and lost. Despite his best efforts to actually be the a55hole they cheer on, he couldn't effectively champion his policies outside of Florida. He made a big show of coming to Michigan last month to trash Whitmer and his appearance made as much noise as a squirrel's fart.

He was already bad at taking it, but the guy can't even dish it! I also think that most MAGAts truly believe The Big Lie that Orange Droolius won and 2020 was rigged for Biden by the WEF, Soros, Davos, BilderbergRothschildsWaaaaaaarrrrrrrgarbl.
