A Trump employee has told federal agents about moving boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago at the specific direction of the former president, according to people familiar with the investigation, who say the witness account — combined with security-camera footage — offers key evidence of Donald Trump’s behavior as investigators sought the return of classified material.

The witness description and footage described to The Washington Post offer the most direct account to date of Trump’s actions and instructions leading up to the FBI’s Aug. 8 search of the Florida residence and private club, in which agents were looking for evidence ofpotential crimes including obstruction, destruction of government records or mishandling classified information.

The people familiar with the investigation said agents have gathered witness accounts indicatingthat, after Trump advisers received a subpoena in May for any classified documents that remained at Mar-a-Lago, Trump told people to move boxes to his residence at the property. That description of events was corroborated by the security-camera footage, which showed people moving the boxes,said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

Why are conservatives (and I'm really beginning to use that term loosely) not outraged by this? Replace the (R) with (D) and they'd be marching in protest like it was Charlottesville.

*edit* This was in response to the Rolling Stone tweet. But, it's pretty apt for everything the Republicans have done in the last twenty years. Empathy, they have none.

Right? If this were you or me, we would have already had our doors kicked down, we'd have lost all of our cell phones, computers, electronics. We'd probably be in jail awaiting trial or out on bond. Our normal lives would have been obliterated.

To be fair though, if we were arrested it wouldn't spark violence.

Im beginning to wonder if the DOJ is just hoping that Dump has a heart attack in the near term before the DOJ is forced to play their hand and move in on DUMPY. It's the easy way out that can basically get the preferred outcome.

And I don't blame them for not wanting to deal with the 24/7 temper tantrum that Dumpy will put on.

Yeah it's an impossible situation. But if we're progressing to an inevitable conclusion, then deciding when you arrest the asshole has to be a balance of a) Limiting damage to the investigation b) limiting ability for tfg to further damage the US with releases or sale of info.

I'm less concerned with the arrest piece. I'm more interested in why a search warrant for the rest of his properties hasn't been executed.

It's not Dump's temper tantrum that is the worry, it's the outright treachery that the Right will incite and attempt to execute.

The DOJ knows that 40% of the population are scum. But in my opinion there is no choice, we have to hold him accountable. And always remember, as vile and ignorant as the Right is, they are also cowards. None of them has an ounce of courage. They are not just the dumbest; they are the weakest.

Frankly, this is not a bad situation to provoke a response from the handful whose hatred outweighs even their cowardice. Let them attack and cut them down. Death By Cop to an entire miserable movement.

Seems a little late to be doing this; he only needs to delay a couple of months to run out the clock. He's been pretty good at that.
 
Outside of the obvious reactions, the thing I noticed from the videos of Pelosi and Schumer was just who wears the pants there. Not that it was too much of surprise. Schumer felt like a tag-a-long trying to stay relevant.

Pelosi: I just got off the phone with the VP (Pence)...
Schumer, interrupting: I just got off the phone with the VP Elect


Like, what? Shut the fuck up. Who cares? She had literally zero power or responsibilities on 1/6 and doesn't even need to be consulted. God, just embarssing for Schumer.
 
Well Speaker of the House is one of the most important jobs in the government so I am not sure why you would expect otherwise. She is third in line of succession and would be the only person who probably could talk to Pence short of the President in that moment. Schumer would not have been anywhere near the line of succession since he likely would not have been President Pro Tempore. (next in line after the speaker) He could get ahold of Harris though she was still part of his caucus.

Speaker will almost always have more power than a Senate Leader. (this will be wrong if McCarthy becomes Speaker...he is a weak spined little troll) And Schumer wouldn't even be Majority Leader since the special elections hadnt happened yet.

I think you are reading way too much into it.

Apparently TFG has stated that the only way he would go before the Jan. 6 Committee is if it's a LIVE testimony...

If I am on the committee, I am going before the press today and offering TFG a seat and a bible to put himself under oath. Let him make his rants "on the record". I'm sure the DOJ would salivate over those possible statements from DUMP...
