Well, obviously it's Guam.

Of course it’s Guam. That’s where all of the Afghans that Biden is evacuating out of Afghanistan are stopping first, and clearly they’re not vaccinated because they’re brown and stupid. We should stop evacuating so many Afghans to Guam. That said, fuck Biden for his terrible evacuation where not enough Afghans are escaping.

Yeah, I'm on the Fuck Biden bandwagon as well. What a complete clusterfuck.

Quick question about that map - cases in California are decreasing? And Missouri? I thought Missouri was a hot zone? Unless I'm reading that incorrectly. Which I probably am.
You're not reading the map incorrectly. Everyone just has to understand what the map is. It's a snapshot comparison between today and exactly two weeks ago. So, if Missouri was red hot, and not quite as hot today, then the map appears to make them look like they are doing better.

People create maps like this to make a point, frequently political, throw them out there on social media, and they make their way into places like this thread.

The Delta variant will make it's way across the country, as did the prior variations of the disease, and everyone will get their turn as a place seeing the numbers jump compared with the weeks before.

I think it would be a really interesting project, years from now, for someone to map out the movement of the virus across the country on maybe a county by county basis, through the various surges and retreats that we've seen.

You musty be a writer for Faux News. ;^)

Excellent snark I think you fished Scooby in!

And once again, the irony of not taking a vaccine to prevent getting sick but taking an animal anti-parasitic when you do.... whew. The mental exercise to get to that point is interesting.

Missouri peaked at almost the exact same time this year as they did last year.

It isn’t rocket science, it’s seasonality. The North will be next as we enter fall/winter.

And it has nothing to do with people relaxing on NPI measures.

on a side note healthy immune systems are the only constant during this entire clown circus. They are crushing right now.

The vaccine is leaky as f*ck. Triple jab won’t change that, probably make it worse.

Serious COVID19 illness and death occurs almost exclusively in those with profound comorbidity. - Less than 1% of deaths had no chronic conditions. - 96% of deaths had 2+ conditions. - Nearly 70% had 6 or MORE co-morbidities.

Aug 20 Update: The latest UK data shows Delta continues to appear much less virulent than other variants. Its overall CFR (0.31%) is only 29% that of Alpha. Delta CFR in the <50 cohort, 0.03% (only 19% of which is fully vaccinated) is about half that of Alpha: 0.03% vs 0.06%.

I did. Sorry, Scooby.

Hovey, I think most of us understand the map. The map now says that the areas with the lowest vaccination rates have been, or are currently, getting creamed. Since Delta is much worse than the original, Florida and other Southern states are getting hit harder than ever before. I couldn’t imagine what the death toll would have looked like if delta was the original, with no one vaccinated. My 1.5 million death toll guess that you openly mocked might have been an underestimation.
