If the person is flying JetBlue fining them $29k is just stupid they will never be able to pay it.

"What are they doing"? For real? Who is in charge in Texas? Is it Democrats?

Just shifting blame away from their abysmal failures. So very much on brand for the modern GQP.

Socialists. Socialists are in charge. Just get rid of them and everything will be fine.

Yeah I really can't tell what I'm supposed to gain from that. Instead of showing me racial percentages of different vaccination categories, show me vaccination percentages of different racial categories, that being what we're discussing here.

Based on my rough understanding, blacks make up 10% of the population but 12% of those w/ >1 dose. So, they're outperforming. Whites, 58% vs. 61%. Which means they're underperforming.

But yeah, that's a really bad chart.

88% of 10% is a whole lot less than 32% of 75%. But when have facts ever gotten in the way of naked racism?

I read the same info backwards- they are 12% of the total population but 10% of the vaccinated.

Look lets make this easy...what percentage of Blacks overall are vaccinated? If it is under 50% they are underperforming. This doesn't need advanced stats they either are vaccinating at a high rate or they aren't.

Absolutely, and the lack of trust among the black community for the medical world is 100% "our" fault and completely understandable. I was responding to the nonsensical idea that this lack of vaccination is what's causing these surges.

In other news, I'm working through a list of employees that don't have covid vaccination records. Querying the state reconciling COVID vaccines into their chart. Monday we'll run a new report. Not having a hit when I query the state does not mean you aren't vaccinated - you could have gotten it out of state, or at CVS or a state run site and they fat fingered your name or whatever. But man, I can't believe there are healthcare workers that refuse the vaccine, and I can't believe even further that they'd risk pissing away their career over it.

I can.

Believe it.

But is that ratio that different from general population?

An interesting posit from five-time Emmy Award winner and Edward R. Murrow Award recipient journalist @SharylAttkisson

With so many health workers resigning or being forced out of jobs for not vaccinating, an acquaintance of mine today speculated if they banded together and offered health services they'd be wildly successful. What do you think?

Sounds tedious.
Don't you have an admin or junior staff for that? (Or is it a medical records, privacy, HIPAA thing?)

We're working on auto-querying but that's taking so long we're just manually querying since employee health needs a report by tuesday or so and we just can't wait. This is one of those "many hands make light work" situations where managers and staffers alike are doing it.

Maybe they'd be successful in Derpville, but I wouldn't go anywhere near a doctor's office that's staffed exclusively by non-vaccinated morons, and I know for a fact I'm not alone on that.

Looks like your double dose "vaccine" is really effective?

Better get a booster.

Dumb question alert: if we get vaccination high enough does COVID just die off for lack of hosts, or does it jump to something else (I dunno... possums look gross) and always remain ready to come back?

I really know nothing at all about this stuff.

No it doesn't just die off. It is a Cornavirus.

“We cannot keep [boosting] and say: ‘We’re going to prevent colds in everybody,’ ” U.S. officials' decision on Covid-19 booster shots baffles some scientists

Correct approach would have aligned more like this and also would have meant following all guidelines for a pandemic. Which magically changed for Covid.

Sweden's 7-day average COVID deaths have been at ZERO for about a month now. I feel like its only a matter of time before the very existence of a place called Sweden is scrubbed from the internet.
