Covfefe-19 The 12th Part: The Only Thing Worse Than This New Board Is TrumpVirus2020

So some more input that the Covid deniers are odd thinkers. Big discussion on the cruise boards about NCL getting an injunction over Florida's vaccine rules. Of course, some are mad, because they don't want to get a vaccine, so they can't cruise.

In that discussion, they bring up "evidence" where the vaccine isn't as effective as advertised. But it's for a very specific small group of citizens- for a small part of the immunocompromised, protection is only 50%. So somehow, that means not getting vaccinated is better.

And when I point out that 50% > 0%, they don't accept the math, but challenge if I have gotten sick since the vaccine...

Yea, it's not perfect. Yes, there have been "breakthrough" cases- but if you have been following along, that was expected- since none of the vaccines claim 100%. But how is that justification of not getting a vaccine?

Heard on the news today that patients in Texas ICU's are begging for staff to give them the vaccine. Have to be told it's too late.

"I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time -- when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness...

The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance"
― Carl Sagan, 1995

Democratic Governor Andy Beshear mandates masks in schools in Kentucky, joining a small handful of other states. Put him on Kamala Harris’ ticket come 2028.

Of course Ted Cruz’s crotch fruit go to a private school that requires face masks.

Are there any countries or even regions here in the US who have seen a Delta surge but since "recovered"?
The UK had a surge but it slowed down. However they have a much better percentage of adults vaccinated

One other thing I want cleared up as I have seen conflicting info on this. Are vaccinated and unvaccinated people able to spread COVID at the same rate? At first I thought it was if you're unvaccinated you are more likely to spread COVID but from stuff I have read I am not clear on that.
