Another Mass Shooting: It's Those Darn Video Games!

Tulsa mass shooter purchased his AR-15 yesterday, THE DAY OF THE SHOOTINGS just 3 hours before the killings. He purchased the SW .40 semi-auto 2 days before the shootings.

Obviously the guy was nuts (maybe not in the legal sense but of course in the every day use of the word sense) but maybe, just maybe if we even had reasonable waiting times to legally purchase a firearm, his nuttiness might have calmed down a bit and maybe someone would have noted it and before the guns arrived stepped in. Obviously banning the purchase or possession of the powerful, assault style weapons preferred by mass shooters is the only real solution here (including confiscation, THERE IS NOT A SINGLE PERSON WHO NEEDS TO POSSESS AN AR-15 OR ANYTHING LIKE IT) but even small, wholly reasonable solutions might have prevented this mass shooting.

Fuck every twisted fuck out there who thinks these kinds of weapons need to be circulating among us having seen what we've seen in the last 25 years. Better yet, do the world a favor and do it with one of your AR-15s but don't forget to pull the trigger.

He was mad at a doctor because his back still hurt after having surgery.

Probably never did the rehab and physical therapy required to get his back right after the surgery, and then lashed out because it still hurt. Fucking snowflakes. Geesh, if I killed someone every time my knee hurt.........

The newest tidbit to circle Twitter and TikTok is a convenient loophole in Texas law. The "Dead Suspect" loophole. Uvalde PD can sit on all their evidence, because according to Texas law "law enforcement agencies only have to release “basic” information about a suspect if that suspect isn’t convicted or is never placed on deferred adjudication."

So, there's that.

The State of Texas must have taken notes from the UMich policy handbook. ;-)

Apparently the surgery was only a few weeks ago too.

Unreal.

but whatever we do, we must take no steps whatsoever to curtail this.

I dont think that will help them with the DOJ...if you assume the DOJ will do anything.

Garland's DoJ? Do something?

Oh, listen to this bullshit:

Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum told reporters, "I spoke with an officer yesterday who is a seasoned veteran of the department. And he was one of the first people to get here. And he said, 'Mayor, it was like the beaches of Normandy out there. Everywhere I looked, to my left and my right, there were officers running towards that building, jumping over bushes, getting around anything in their way between them and that threat so that they could save people.'"

Biden, like everyone else with a functioning brain and a soul, has had enough of the gun humper bullshit

"An AR-15 is a gun of choice for killing raccoons before they get to our chickens." — Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO)

All of these ^^^ people are fucking psychotic.

It's BS. I'm grew up rural and never heard of anyone needing an AR-15 for small animals. First you put chickens up at night. Second the decent sized farm dog will keep them away and act as the alarm. If you have one that's diseased and aggressive, .22 or shotgun works just fine.

The AR-15 was designed to mortally damage people. “The bones aren’t going to break, they’re going to shatter. The organs aren’t going to be just damaged, they are going to be destroyed”. #BanAssaultWeapons

Agreed. Small game can be downed just fine with a .22, 9, or .38.

5.56 would obliterate small game.

Actually, guns like a .22-250 or a .223 (which is what most AR-15's are, I believe) are pretty popular calibers for hunting raccoons. Now, that said, that doesn't mean you need a .223 caliber gun that looks like an AR-15. You can buy them in a variety of styles.

What people always forget about these AR-15's (because of their appearance, and because of their use in most of these mass shootings) is that the AR-15 is actually a pretty small caliber rifle.

It may be small caliber but it rips flesh apart. It tears your insides and kills you fast.

I don't think it matters a whole lot what people forget or what they know about firearms. Who cares if the typical round you fire with an AR-15 is actually a pretty small caliber? Some of us know and understand the ballistics and the physics behind why the AR-15 is so lethal and is the preferred rifle among the mass shooters. None of that matters. There is no reason for the average person to possess one. There never has been. There never will be.

Maybe the next mass shooting with an AR-15 will target the right people so that congress acts. We know they don't care if children and black people are the ones getting shot.

Yes, their diameters are similar, hence the similar names. And the actual bullet may be similar in size, but the one on the right has one hell of a wallop to it thanks to physics.

The one on the left can take a raccoon down just fine.

*edit* For those who may be unfamiliar, the left is a .22 LR round, the right is a .223 / 5.56 NATO round.

That certainly isn't unique about the AR-15, in relation to a number of other rifles.

I am very pro-gun control at this point, but the fear mongering and misinformation about the AR-15 is frustrating.

Cynthia Bir showed us the difference between bullets shot from an AR-15-style rifle and a handgun using specially-formulated gelatin targets that were designed to represent soft tissue in the human body.
