2nd, my employee is bugging me for an award. It's annoying me. She says she and a few others worked on a 'no cost solution' to an issue we were having. She wants them all to get 'win' awards (something my company gives out that comes with a monetary award). It's ****ing me off because it's super lame to nominate yourself. I told her if she wants to nominate the others she can. I also told her if she's proud of this solution she needs to post it on our board....2 weeks later she still hasn't. Friday at the end of the day she sends an email to me, another manager, and a few of the people she thinks should be nominated basically telling me to submit a 'win' award for them. I want to shake her and say that's not how awards work. not only that, it's not like she went over and above her job, solving quality issues is what we already pay her to do.
