4 games for Cooke. Same suspension the Bruins Paille received. Fair? Discuss.

It's gotten really bad at the college level. Everyone's doing it to try and draw the boarding or "checking from behind" penalty.

Good God, could you CCHA'ers imagine if the NHL had that rule? One player every night would be kicked out for a game!

        Burke pulls the trigger.

Leafs general manager Brian Burke didn’t wait until the trade deadline to get busy.

The team announced this morning that defenceman Francois Beauchemin has been dealt to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Joffrey Lupul, defenceman Jake Gardiner and a conditional Ducks fourth-round pick in 2012.

Not just this year, but I believe 8 of the last 9 times, yes?

Anyhow, enjoy the game. I think your streak will hit 6 tonight.

Hopefully we'll be able to hear Chara being booed on his own ice tonight like usual when Montreal plays in Boston.

Montreal surprises me by having quite the road following of fans. The Florida Panthers held a promotion last month for Habs fans to travel to Florida to watch their team, and listening on XM, it sounded like it was a home game for the Habs.

Beauchemin should be thrilled to be back in SoCal and part of a Ducks team in the playoff mix.

... and you'll see nothing but confused looks as usual.

How will the Bruins lose tonight, that's the real question?

In 2008-2009 the B's were 5-0-1 against the Canadiens. Including the playoffs that year, they won 9 straight against the Habs.

Yes, they were 1-5 last year, and 0-2-1 this year.

Baw, you're playing with numbers. The year the Bruins had their way was the most odious of Canadiens' seasons in 20 years. They blew it up that summer. I prefer these numbers - Montreal has beaten Boston 20 of the the last 26 regular season meetings.

And you don't really want to talk head to head playoff records, do you??

I'm going to go with a Michael Ryder turnover. Michael Ryder has played 15 games agianst the team that drafted him, and is goalless in those games.

Tonight's goalies, and their respective records against their opponent:

                        Carey Price, 12-2-2
                        Tim Thomas, 8-14-4

When it rains in Ranger land, it pours. Drury out 6 weeks due to knee surgery.

despite the head to head this year, a playoff matchup between the two clubs would be closer than this lopsided win ratio is. Montreal wasn't particularly good in 2009, and Boston in 2010. Not really sure comparing the clubs from 5+ years ago considering none of the players were even on the team back than. Bergeron was the only player on the team which boston choked up 3-1 back in 2004.

Just not meant to be this year for us. Injuries have shattered the team and it's too bad because the young players were finally having the breakout year that was needed for us to be a contender again.
