Dawes has been outstanding for the Wolves this year, but relegated to a 4th line "Checking/Grind" role in Atlanta for his call ups. He really hasn't been able to flourish in that system, and needs to be on a line with some scoring ability to use his skills.

I'm really going to miss seeing him in Chicago.

Dan Ellis doesn't get paid enough to sit on the bench.

I don't think he'll ever see Montreal; they have nobody left down at Hamilton...that team has been decimated by call-ups and trades.

Ok, so earlier in the month he did ok and lately he hasn't been good.

Was it Mike Ricci that he dethroned?

In one of those four goal games I listed, he gave up 4 in the first and then didn't reurn. On the whole, his numbers are really bad (3.43 GAA, .890 save percentage).

How was that interference on holmstrom?

When Barch scores, and Jason Williams has the principal assist, it's generally a bad night for your squad.

You're playing Dallas. I think Holmstrom gets hosed everytime Detroit faces the Stars.

                    Edit: And Anaheim.

The NHL would have been a better place if Ericsson had cracked Steve Ott's head open at center ice there.

Leafs beat Montreal and are four back of Carolina. Kessel and Bozak both score two, Kessel has six in the past five games, and even Brett Lebda scored - his first in 80+ games

This. Ott makes Avery look tame.

But no, Ericsson is the archetypical soft Swede who rarely uses his size to his advantage. So in other words, he's a perfect fit for Detroit.

Just finished this off on the DVR (was at Preds game last night...zzzzzzzzzzzz). Kessel was terrific last night. He made Gill and Hamrlik look every bit their age. Toronto's charge is most impressive; they played with far more conviction last night than Montreal.

Has Kessel lost weight since the all star game?
