If he were Favre-ing it, he would've signed with the Wings and sent pictures of his dick to a Carolina ice girl.

I was at the Preds-Avalanche game Saturday night, and outside of taking two consecutive penalties, didn't think he looked too bad out there. He certainly didn't seem to be favoring anything, and IIRC, he played a full game.

Not a surprise. There's been talk for a couple of weeks that he would be dealt. Christian Hanson called up from the Marlies to take his spot.

Calgary laid a 9-1 beat down on Colorado last night. Colorado pulled Budaj after 2 quick goals, then Anderson let in 4, then Budaj came back for the last 3. Top line for Calgary played 12-13 mins, 7 minutes less than normal, so they weren't trying to pour it on. It just........happened. Flames are coming around.

Seems like a reasonable deal for the Laughs, now they have a first round pick. Burke has admitted that he's shopping the third round pick for a current NHLer. He thinks that Lupul can step in and partially take over Versteeg's role. They have to retool so I think it's a deal they had to make.

Dear Thomas Kaberle - you must really like Toronto. I admire your determination.

We watched the first period in all of its ugliness. The wheels have really come off the Avs bus.

Lots of talk in the TO papers that Versteeg wasn't happy and felt he wasn't a good fit with Kessel and Bozak.

There was no fluidity when Versteeg played on a line with Tyler Bozak and Phil Kessel, and when Joffrey Lupul last week was acquired from Anaheim, Versteeg appeared to know his time in Toronto was short.

“I wasn’t given an opportunity, in some senses, to fit,” Versteeg said Monday night in an interview with AM 640 as he went to catch a flight to Tampa from Boston. “They have the one line that has been awesome and then you see the other line with Phil and Boz and myself, it just didn’t work the way we’d like it to.

“It’s not like I asked out of Toronto. I never did anything like that. I did want to stay.”

What will Versteeg remember most about Toronto? When asked that by Leafs TV, he did not mention coach Ron Wilson.

                      Burke swings another, but this one makes little sense to me, other than insurance or a future throw-in;

Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke continues to wheel and deal, acquiring forward Aaron Voros from Anaheim on Tuesday for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2011.

Voros will report to Toronto's AHL affiliate.

He was waived by Anaheim last week but went unclaimed. The Leafs will only cough up the draft pick if Voros is re-signed by the Leafs in the offseason.

The 29-year-old appeared in 12 games for the Ducks this season and had no points and 43 penalty minutes.

He's appeared in 162 career games with Anaheim, Minnesota and the New York Rangers, scoring 18 goals and 37 points.

The only problem is that the first rounder will likely be below 25th overall, in a draft that is thought to be a bit thin in terms of 1st round talent (though perhaps not as bad as the CHL scouts were predicting two years ago).

If you're the Leafs, I guess it's better than not having a first at all though, considering the Kessel trade has worked out so swimmingly and all.

Can't rule them out trying to trade up though, either.

The weak draft is factored in. There's a reason you really only saw second round picks traded around last year, and now we've already had two first round picks moved pre-deadline for less-than-superstars.

Kessel with two in B-town. Nice way to bust the slump.
