    In fairness to me, I didn't see Bard pitch today.

    Despite purchasing MLB extra innings and watching dozens of games last season, I rarely saw Bard pitch last summer, either. But I've seen him throw a lot. Including this evening.

          I hated Mike Napoli when he was with the Angels. Good to see I can now hate him in a completely different city! Yay!

          So our weakness is still the back of the bullpen?

            I'd say yes - though it'll be impossible to pass judgment for a few more games, and until we've seen Papelbon and Jenks.

            I'm just not a Bard fan. His overall numbers are pretty good, but they're deceiving. He's like that power hitter who belts 3-run HRs when the team is already up 6-0, but reliably whiffs with the game on the line. Not good under pressure.

                Too early to ask whether this lineup doesn't like teh lefthanders?

                Or did this Matt Harrison guy really become Randy Johnson during the offseason?

                            No, I said that "people" need to calm down. My twitter feed is on fire with people who think the season is already a waste.

                            As I said on there earlier, "Red Sox fans are stuck in a pre-2004 mentality." It's a LONG season.

                                Heidi Watney is advising people not to jump yet.

                                Players are "shocked" as Buchholz said, but know there are 159 games left to play better.
