My stupid arse stayed up for that thing, too. Normally a last-inning win feels great. Last night, it was just a relief

There is a reason why Baltimore is in last place.

Edit: This is getting too exciting.

Their offense is carrying them even with Drew in the lineup who should be replaced by Reddick in right field now that Crawford is back in left. They should make a deal for a quality starting pitcher now with the injuries they have and I don't have faith in Wakefield and his knuckleball, Lackey is Lackey, Weiland an unproven and showed it in his first start, Andrew Miller is a long term project with consistency problems. You can never have too much pitching.

Reyes and Beltran are nice trade rumors but you would have to give up too much to get them, and besides offense is not their problem. Starting pitching is their one weakness with their injuries and lack of quality starters after Beckett, Lester, and Buchholtz. I expect Lester to be back but Buchholtz is a big if right now.

It's also relevant that they're in the playoffs by seven games at this point.

If Buchholtz comes "back" (and I agree that's a big if) and with the Lackey of the last couple of starts, their pitching matches up fine with everyone except Philadelphia.

Wow this offense is on a roll. That's two straight games that it looked like the starting pitcher blew the game in the top of the first and they were back in it by the bottom of the first and never looked back.

I know it was Bruce Chen, but still . . .

Bedard is a shot in the dark but not a lot of faith it will bolster the starting staff. Like Harden, he's been having trouble staying healthy.

That doesn't look like a home run to me, although it did bounce off the wall funny. Balls don't bounce back off of a flat surface like that.

Okay, so it is a homer. I'd love to know what it hit.

It hit a woman's knee. The next inning, Don Orsillo (Red Sox play-by-play) said "We have evidence" and they showed on camera a woman who was sitting in that spot with a nasty bruise on her knee. Bizarre.

Yanks are rolling right now, should be an interesting series now they're tied for 1st. Let's see if the Sox can continue to beat the Yanks as Sox have won most of the games so far.

The funniest part was the guy standing next to them with the binoculars and cigarette.

So, what happens if you have a ticket to game 2 and the person who has the ticket to that seat in game 1 is still there? Now, I know it's more or less empty, but still....not sure why they couldn't call game 1 and that it has to actually end before game 2 can begin. I know they need to get these both in if they can. It's the 8th inning and the Sox are up by 7 runs. Call it so you can start the second game. You're not going to be able to get that game completely done, now you're running the risk of not being able to play the five innings to make it an actual game. And the A's might not be able to get out to Cleveland.

When did smoking get banned @ Fenway? I know as long as Mrs. Yawkey was alive, you could smoke (and she was a chimney) at the park, so it had to be after she died in February, 1992.

I always thought it was soon after her death, but if the vid is 1995, and they're still puffing away, I guess I was wrong (again!).
