Beckett was very effective in an odd way. Most pitchers would have given up six or seven runs with that lack of command. And the hitters, despite getting few hits, built up the pitch count, which would have worked against most non-Verlander pitchers.

I still can't believe they let the game end with the Red Sox still behind. I didn't think that was allowed.
Congrats to Beckett for hanging in there. And, of course, to Verlander.
For as long as the ump gets suspended for starting ****? Pap wasn't even talking to him, had turned around and the ump takes off his mask and comes out from behind the plate. That confrontation was entirely caused by the umpire. Of course, MLB will suspend Pap but not say a word about the ump.
And you expected different. Outside of Big East basketball, can anyone name an official being held responsible?? Tim Higgins used to do my HS games in the early 70's. He was good then, too.
Hey, have they re-scheduled the game against Baltimore that was postponed? I was going thru my pocketbook and found the tickets and realized I have no idea when the make up game is.
