  • Songs And Movies That Are Forever Intertwined

    Yep. The extreme.

For example, if you've seen the movie, how can you NOT think of Reservoir Dogs when you hear "Stuck In The Middle With You"? I bet many of you do the little dance (I know I do).

    My other top ones:

Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter" in "Goodfellas" (although that soundtrack is very tough to beat, in relation to the scenes the other songs are in)

Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich "Hold Tight" in "Death Proof."

What say you? You hear a certain song, what movie do you think of?
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Right on. Immediately thought of "Layla" when I saw the thread title....same movie.
I wish I am able to live long enough to do all the things I was attributed to.

That really is a close top three for me. It's perfect for the scene(s).

        Get. Out. Of. My. Head.

I was just explaining this to a friend during a pool game yesterday. (For me the movie ruined the song because I cannot watch that scene -- it's too intimate and believable and upsetting.)

My example is actually a commercial: some stupid airline (maybe United?) played "An American in Paris"* under their commercials and they became so iconic I know always think of them when I hear that segment. Very effective advertising but cultural rape.

        * As corrected by PM, the raped song was "Rhapsody in Blue."

White Christmas from White Christmas....no but seriously. This one is a little more obscure but I always associate the two, Madonna's Crazy for You and the Matthew Modine movie Vision Quest.
