On what planet is Buck Martinez living? Beckett is not in command of the strike zone.

And there are the insurance runs.

Do us all a favor, Anaheim, and take care of this in 3. At least then we might have an interesting ALCS.

Ugh. Izturis with the game-winning single.

Wow. Beckett walks Guerrero. Do you know how hard that is?

And not only that, but he gets lifted for a pinch runner. So we can't count on him being an easy strikeout later.

Thank God. Weaver and Lackey are good, but the Red Sox are making them look like Drysdale and Koufax.

Any reason why the Red Sox refuse to work the count and wait for their pitches tonight?

Is it me, or is TBS's 'pitch trax' graphic essentially random?

I'll say this for Boston, they do everything as a team. And right now, it seems they're slumping at the plate as a team.

Knock on wood that Beckett stays in this groove that he's in.

I'd have to say Josh Beckett is alive and well.

Martinez and Ellsbury are the only people with a pulse right now. You could chuck Pedrioa, Papi, Bay, Lowell, Youk, Gonzo, Drew, and Variteck in the San Andreas fault and get the same production. Some times you run into good pitching, sometimes you CREATE IT.

Pedroia is useless at the plate right now. He's approaching Papi levels of uselessness...
Someone has to do something soon.

Incidentally, I hate the national crews. Even with Orsillo in the booth, it's a tie game and they're practicaly gushing over the Angels.

Beckett's giving Boston the start they needed. One run allowed, and pitching efficiently enough to go 8+.

Just need someone, anyone, to rip one of Weaver's 92mph fastballs out.

    Ellsbury checked that swing, dammit.

    Oh well.

Lowell can't run, but he can sure jump.
